Are we saying that any defence needs the midfield to be flooded, despite the fact it hasn't worked at all under Hughes? Trying to play fantasy football with young kids who will never be good enough. We need two up top and getting the ball in the box quicker. He’s playing beside our striker McCann, but coming deep/running the channels at times in a sort of free role. Trying to instill a building/passing game from the back is great if you have the players from midfield and/or up front to link with the defenders looking to move upfield.
