Not sure which is amusing me more in all of this

The state the **** have got themselves in to try and appease their knuckle dragging supporters or the supporters of the other arse cheek ripping it out of them whilst conveniently forgewtting all about their actions in 2010 when their actions led to the withdrawal of Scottish referees.

Nothing has changed and unfortunately is unlikely to do so in my lifetime.

Quote from The Guardian - 21st November 2010.

Celtic have been vociferous in their criticism of McDonald, with the club's chairman, John Reid, launching a withering attack on the referee and the SFA on Thursday. The SFA's new chief executive, Stewart Regan, has vowed to review refereeing procedures within the governing body but Reid has demanded McDonald be sacked.

Celtic met the SFA to express their disquiet at other decisions which they believe have been unfairly awarded against them in the past year. They have called for Uefa's involvement in resolving the crisis. Reid went as far as to talk of historical discrimination during his speech to his club's shareholders.

Not to go too far off topic but if memory serves me right the referee was found out to be lying at the time and in pretty sure the then Dundee United manage accused Dougie MacDonald of being a cheat

Refereeing in Scotland came under intense media attention in 2010 after a controversial incident on 17 October, during an SPL game between Dundee United and Celtic, which Celtic won 2–1.

When the score was level at 1–1, referee Dougie McDonald awarded a penalty kick to Celtic. He then quickly reversed his initial decision after consulting with assistant referee Steven Craven.

Celtic officials heavily criticised the decision to not award a penalty after the game.

After Craven resigned on 25 October, it emerged that he and McDonald had lied to his supervisor, Jim McBurney, and to Celtic manager Neil Lennon about the decision making process. McDonald had claimed that he had changed his mind after consulting with Craven, when in fact he had changed his mind himself before consulting Craven. This revelation prompted an investigation by the SFA, which resulted in McDonald receiving an official warning on 29 October, while also upholding the actual decision.

Peter Houston

Houston, who is now set to face the wrath of his SFA paymasters who employ him as Scotland assistant boss, said: "Celtic created chances but I thought we coped well with everything they threw at us.

"Then Dougie McDonald conspires to try to give a penalty against us.

"It's not the first penalty we've been given against us by Dougie.

"He couldn't get his finger to the spot quickly enough - then it transpires it's not a penalty

But of course that’s not nearly as entertaining as the myth Celtic causes the referees to go on strike

I'll give you that and certainly not as entertaining or controversial as this deluded f**k, Clown

Reid went as far as to talk of historical discrimination during his speech to his club's shareholders.

No idea why folk are going back 10 years for an instance of Celtic doing this, they had a "meeting" with the referees in the build up to our Semi-Final meeting this season, the winning goal scored after the entire officiating team missed Jota catching the ball in the build up...

That's different.

Don't ask why, it just is.

Nice conspiracy/victim narrative but I don’t even see one St.Johnstone moaning about it when we score…

ETA - ‘ catching’ ffs

Any team who have been awarded four penalties in one game have got a brass neck to complain about referee bias.............

However, we should be used to the vile bigots salty tears of paranoid outrage by now.

So you're willing to admit the ref should see it and Celtic massively benefitted from a poor decision just days after a meeting with the refs, if one of our players claims for a handball?

There’s a difference between a ‘poor decision’ and a refereeing missing something for me. The fact no players immediately complained or the commentary team picked up on it after a couple of replays would suggest this was the latter.

Liam Gordon claims for it almost instantly.

If he can see it so can the ref/linesman.

Let's not use the judgement of pundits to form any opinion on what refs should be seeing though, that's just stupid.

The commentators have the benefit of instant replays so would be ‘stupid’ to totally discount what they have seen. At the end of the day it wasn’t obvious in real time, he didn’t ‘catch’ the ball and as injustices go it’s pretty pissy.

Aye, Celtic only scored the winning goal as a result of this being missed, so it's nothing, really...
