The Famous Aberdeen v the Glesga Sevco

As a (sort of) neutral looking in, the weegie team got away with one last night.  I only saw the 2nd half, but Aberdeen were easily the better side.  Scott Brown is one of those players that you only like if he's playing for your club.  He could walk into any team and do a job.

It reminded me a lot of our game at Easter Road. Very few chances for either side in the game and we had little control of the match.

We've got 3 out of 4 good results away from home under Gio but the lack of control in those games is concerning.

That's exactly what would have happened tonight. The referee doesn't think it's a penalty so there is no break in play and Rangers score. VAR would have looked at the Hedges incident, ruled out Rangers goal and given the penalty. I hate VAR, but it would have been worth it for that senario alone.

In the BBC report Glass says "The linesman said there wasn't enough contact then the referee told me at half-time there was no contact. It's an incident that has cost us probably winning the game."

VAR would definitely be recommending an on field review once he checks the replays if the ref tells him that. Probably wouldn't have managed to check the replays in time before Rangers were attacking though.

Simple. You disallow the *** goal, review it, give Aberdeen the penalty.

Incredible that Clancy never saw any contact with Hedges & McGregor.
Yet he saw contact with Kent & Brown (there was less contact there if any at all).

Clancy basically shat it & didn’t want to give a penalty & have to deal with McGregor.

Loved Glass’s comment when asked was it a penalty in the first half.

”To anyone with eyes”.

Yeh he shat it. He could / should have sent off Brown , McCrorie and Hayes. Hayes is actually a straight Red!

He booked the Rangers captain for a great challenge and gave a penalty against Rangers when ball hit hand when at players side and actually booked Morelos for having an arm by his side

The minimal contact between McGregor and Hedges is the Aberdeen player thrown out a leg as he knows he’s never getting the ball. It’s called simulation and a bookable offence. Your captain / asst manager knows all about it.

The referee also should have sent off Brown for gesturing to Kent and sarcastic applauding him.

Clancy is an out and out cheat.

It's almost like Clancy is completely incompetent and blagging it.

Two things for me: one, it's a penalty, but you rarely get those sorts of decisions when playing the OF. two, McGregor came out and launched himself with the sort of confidence that comes from a player who knows no matter what he does, the referee will be lenient with him.

Surely he'd have to book Hedges for diving?!

Logically and consistently, yes, but....

The linescunt's comments are even more worrying, like there's a level of appropriate contact on the legs of a player travelling at speed in the opposite direction, with the ball gone.

Much like Morelos not kicking McKenna brutally enough a few years back.

Did Rangers players do anything wrong in the match? Anything at all?

Thinks it was a pen for McCoist in the 89 Skol Cup Final type post.

I'm not sure how it is disrespectful to Aberdeen? They just hold the interviews in a different part of the stadium. Whether it is disrespectful to the other sponsors, that's a different question but it is unfortunately a legal matter that seems to be rumbling on.

They held all the TV interviews in exactly the same place beside the tunnel. But for the precious Rangers people they insisted that the sponsors board be moved from behind them.

Thanks. And in what way does that disrespect Aberdeen?
