Because it should've been a guaranteed three points and a chance to improve their goal difference. St. Mirren literally gave their debut to two youth players.

Well...one one debutant started (Offord) and one sub (McManus). Reid was making his 2nd start of the season and Henderson his 3rd.

However 9 out of the squad of  17 were teenagers, 7 of whom had never played for our 1st team.
