In Dead Pool game terms, it's probably your imagination. In 2021, until 25th May, there were 27 deaths. In 2021, so far, we've had 24, so there's not much in it. The big difference, though, is that last year's deaths were more popular with those 27 deaths scoring 163 times whereas the 24 this year have only scored 95 times; on average a hit last year (before May 25th) scored for 6 players, whereas this year, it's less than four. As you'd expect more players had scored by this time last year than have died in this. A big part of that was Prince Philip toppling London Bridge a year ago last April, putting 54 different punters on the score table in one go; there's only about 54 people that have scored so far in total this year; I suspect something similar happened in 2020 when long term Dead Pool stalwards Vera, Olivia and Kirk all threw in the towel in the same year.
