LeedsPhil
In the draw made by UEFA today, Scotland's representative amateur region will face amateur regions from each of Russia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Israel. Matches to be played sometime between 15th August and 9th December 2022, in a host country to be decided (could be here). Only the group winner progresses, to a last-8 tournament, host country to be decided, to be held 'in principle' in the last 2 weeks of June 2023. So my question is : does anybody know the process / schedule of determining before next August which Scottish amateur region it is that will represent us? 2022/23 UEFA Regions' Cup qualifying draw: preliminary and intermediate round | UEFA Regions' Cup | UEFA.com

LeedsPhil
No. The UEFA article specifies those who'll be represented by their National amateur side, the others (Scotland included) by a Region. In previous editions it has been the Central Scottish. Perhaps just by nomination by SAFA, rather than via any qualifying cup?...

HibeeJibee
It rings a bell that in early seasons we sent the Amateur Cup winning club (masquarading as a league select), or the select of the league of whatever club won it? Either way we've a thoroughly abysmal record: 1999 ... eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2001 ... eliminated in R1 (finished 2nd in group) 2003 ... eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2005 ... eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2007 ... had to enter preliminary, eliminated (finished 3rd in group) 2009 ... eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2011 ... eliminated in R1 (finished 3rd in group) 2013 ... eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2015 ... had to enter preliminary (won group), eliminated in R1 (finished last in group) 2017 ... had to enter preliminary (won group), eliminated in R1 (finished 3rd in group) 2019 ... had to enter preliminary, eliminated (finished 3rd in group) Out of 39 games our entrants have managed 8 wins - of which 3 were in preliminaries - and only in 2001 did they finish in top half of R1 group. No doubt part of the trouble is that on the continent higher standards of football are classed as 'amateur' than is the case here i.e. it'd encompass lower pyramid.
