I just provided the facts. I expect we'll get our customary doing at Fir Park but I'm at least not dreading it as I was when the draw was made.
G_&_T
This looks like a possible upset, with Morton having claimed 7 points from their last three games. Ross County away on Tuesday could be a difficult game for Well, who haven't played since Boxing Day, remember!
AyrshireTon
We have one Scottish Cup win at Fir Park to our name - the Quarter Finals in 1922. It's written in the stars.

Based on current form and league placings, but also as there should be a decent crowd omicron Covid and weather permitting ! Plus as GA was involved in a tight 1-1 draw last year he will know fully what to expect. We have a better team this season and our form is better also at the moment. But I expect a tough game. I made this comment and then Inverness stuck 6 past Morton. But I will admit I am slightly concerned at the upturn in Morton fortunes. Add in the Imrie factor and this has the potential to be a bit of a disaster . I am sure as hell glad we have a league game beforehand. We’re it not for restrictions we would have (as is now normally the case) no competitive game for a few weeks which would have made it a bigger worry. We have made a couple of shrewd additions in Shaw and Tierney. May see either or both on Saturday. I reckon it will be a tight game. Went to penalties last year, but I am hopeful we can win in the 90 minutes. Morton defence will not have faced a player like the budget Bergkamp this season. Will be interesting to see how they cope with him. Will go for 2-1 for the Well

Yes , we specialise in knock out matches. All our boys are made of steel (a local term) see penalty win over ICT Had thought this was going to be a wasted Saturday now Dougie has us dreaming.
AsimButtHitsASix
As has been discussed we are winning the cup this year so the only question is whether Motherwell will take us to penalties, extra time or take a 90 minute doing. I reckon Motherwell would usually beat Morton but they can't beat fate. The only downside to our 2022 Scottish Cup triumph is we can't beat Rangers in the final again as they are deid. But if, somehow, the prophecy remains unfulfilled I'm foolish enough to let myself get hopeful about this match which, when Motherwell are involved, usually results in us playing pish. 3-0 Motherwell.

Jamie_M
Looks like Watt's leaving Motherwell today. Every little helps.

If I was a Morton defender, I reckon I'd far rather be facing Tony Watt than Kevin Van Veen, who as well as dazzling you with silky continental skills on his way to a hat trick is also likely to kick you in the nuts once or twice for good measure, before enjoying carnal relations with your WAGs in the shower room afterwards. Either that or he'll get nowhere near the game for 25 minutes and then get sent off for an obscure offence that nobody even knew was in the rule book. However it goes, it won't be boring.
TheGoon
Dreading this a lot less than I was when the draw was made. Still expect a Motherwell win obviously but we’ll at least make a game of it.
#Gary
Anyone actually able to buy tickets in the away end for this one or are we all just rocking up and buying them up there? I'd rather but in advance but Morton directed us to the Motherwell e-ticket site and said make an account first. You make an account and it only allows you to purchase tickets for the home sections? Follow this link, had to scroll through Motherwell's website for ages to find it as there was no way to get there on the ticketing site: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/motherwellfc/EDP/Event/Index/283?groupref=2&digest=6456632158f4d84cef38d4b1ad16c02f88a0aa10a36cfe1302fd0dec325454f4 It's a weird thing to be looking to a game at Fir Park with anything other than dread. We're still obviously massive underdogs but we can at least have some hope that we're going to compete rather than the usual capitulation we tend to offer. Despite our vast improvement under Imrie there are still clear weaknesses you'd expect a team of that quality to exploit. We allowed Dunfermline and Ayr space in midfield with confidence they weren't good enough to hurt the defence with it then were in total control of those games as soon as we took the lead. Unlike those rabbles Motherwell clearly have the quality to hurt us if we leave them the space to control the midfield as Kilmarnock did for an hour so I'm not sure Oliver in the midfield will work here, and if we were to sneak a goal it'll end up being backs to the wall stuff rather than Reilly taking that as his cue to run riot. However the alternative would be bringing Jacobs in and pushing Lyon forward which might end up with Ugwu and Reilly isolated when we're in possession, and risks sitting too deep asking for trouble. Two clean sheets in a row has been excellent and getting good performances out of players who looked totally finished a month ago so soon is massively to Imrie's credit, but despite their improvement the thought of Van Veen up against McLean and Lithgow does give me the fear a bit. Still, we've enough reason to be confident it won't turn into a confidence destroying pumping that puts us back to square one. If we win this game then we are definitely winning the Cup.

vikingTON
An 'e-ticket' site that just offers paper tickets to post out to you is Morton-esque levels of commercial incompetence*. * Spoiler Okay not quite true, as the site works and shows the relevant and updated fixtures. Phillips455
They are really trying to jinx it for us aren't they? After Thesdays performance I hope we have kicked out the mistakes and take this game seriously.
ZX1886
Looking forward to heading along to my first game since November. Usually swap over to the main stand for cup games but East Stand for me tomorrow. Fully expect a quiet walk back to the train station after Imrie’s produced a ‘get it up ye’ following a 1-0 Morton win.
ropy
Apologies for my lack of knowledge but do Morton have any players to look out for? A prolific striker, a mercurial winger, an imposing defender?
