D Angelo Barksdale
After the tragedy of my short lived Andorran journey. It's time to get back into it with another triple threat. The destination is the edge of the world ( @AsimButtHitsASix read me like a book tbf to him). The National Side With a population of around 55,000 to choose from, roughly the size of Livingston, The Faroe Islands are the 5th smallest member of UEFA. Despite improving results, they are 113th in the world and remain firmly in the 'diddy' category. Can we make it to a major tournament ? Midvágs Bóltfelag Located on the westernmost island that makes up the archipelago, MB (a bit easer) are a sizable club for Faroese standards with 7 2nd tier titles, but currently languish in the 4th and bottom tier, the only side at this level that isn't a B or C side, so some Falkirk vibes here. This will be a Youth Development challenge, relying solely on developing my own players for club (and country). Ítróttarfelagid Føroyar IF Foroyar are an amateur side based in beautiful Copenhagen and made up from students from the Faroe Islands who have come over to improve their Education. They currently sit in Tier 7 (seven) of the Danish League system. A long journey to Danish and European glory awaits here. They don't have any youth system atm, but I believe they will produce Faroese lads once we're up and running. I'm also going to restrict myself to a Scandanavian only signing policy here. I'll just run with it anyway and if they don't I'll try and get Faroe sides as feeders, which should get me a few and pump money into the league to hopefully improve their leagues overall facilities. I've not edited it in any way.
AsimButtHitsASix
If ye've not started yet quickly going into editor and changing "based nation" to Faroe Islands should make (at least some) of the players that come through Faroese. If ye've already started then ye might get the odd one come through as the club has a Faroese chairman but I don't see anything that has club vision or his personal vision lilting toward Faroese players.

D Angelo Barksdale
MB HWFG. So, we're in the 3. deild, which contains 19 clubs and it's split into 2 leagues of 6 and one of 7, playing each other only twice. Top of the league gets promoted and the best runners up go into a playoff league of 6 playing another 10 games with 1 going up. Pretty shan set up imo. Because it's a summer league and I started the game in the Danish league in June, we're already halfway through. and we're bottom.
D Angelo Barksdale
IF Me and the chairperson are the only employees at the club atm. Decent capacity, so we'll not have to upgrade that for a while anyway. The Danish 7th tier is a bit of a mess, with various regional leagues, some with as many as 16 sides and others with just 4. We have 12 in the KBH Serie 1 P1, for a 22 game season. We're huge favourites to go up, but I have no idea what is going on with the 3 different prices here.
D Angelo Barksdale
National side National team is ok atm, with quite a few playing abroad, but a long way off that peak of 74th reached back in 2015 when they defeated Greece home and away in Euros qualifying. First objective is to not get pumped badly in the WC qualifiers before seeing what next years Nations League brings, we're in Group C I believe.
D Angelo Barksdale
MB With the small leagues, I've rattled through the 1st in no time. We'll have to improve a bit if we're to get out the basement here. This is annoying. It's the same for every other job at the club except one... I managed to hire a fitness coach although given that his rating is 2 for that, I can only surmise that his experience consists of watching a YouTube video 5 minutes before his interview, tbf he's only setting out cones and telling the lads to do a couple of laps round the astroturf. I got a youth intake. Happened upon them by chance as there was no announcement due to not having a Head of Youth Development. Judging by the standard, I think the local High school just rounded up every 5th year and dropped them off at the club.
D Angelo Barksdale
IB We were huge favourites to go up, so let's see how that's playing out. Spoiler Yeah, we're too good for this level. A lovely 10-3 scoreline which is the 1st such result I can remember winning a game by. Only a 22 game season, but there's a huge 4 month winter break 7th Nov - 6th March. Seems a bit excessive imo. Plenty bodies in as we only started with 14 players and my best CB left on the 2nd day. Obviously at this level guys play for free so the squad situation will be quite fluid for a while until we can turn semi pro.
D Angelo Barksdale
National Team Obviously, we were in Scotland's group, with 3 games already played before I took over. Par for the course here. Israel h Spoiler A promising start and we really deserved something from the match after being the better team. Scotland h Spoiler Oh my ! Apologies to Sir Steve Clarke, but that's one of the greatest results in Faroes history. Nicked a goal and it was proper backs to the wall stuff at the end. Denmark a Spoiler Back down to earth here. Utterly smashed. Austria h Spoiler OH MY !!! What a team. Only to get this 2 days later, WTF. Moldova h Spoiler Made tough work of this, but "saved my job" smh
D Angelo Barksdale
IF So, we pretty much cruised to the title after that 4 month mid season break, annoyingly never managed an unbeaten season though. 73 goals in 22 games though from the KBH Serie 1-1 champs. We leave behind the Danish 7th tier with its 13 regional leagues and move up to the Danish 6th tier with it's 5 regional leagues.
D Angelo Barksdale
MB The 4th tier in the Faroes is 19 teams, 2 leagues of 6 and 1 of 7. They're apparently not the same every year though, there's a draw. Last year we came 4th out of 7, this year we're in a 6 team division, so only 10 regular season games. I've not got a clue if this year will be easier or tougher. I think we've improved, managed to win a cup game against Royn, who are unbeaten at the top of one of the other 3.deild groups and then only knocked out by top tier EB. Halfway through and literally anything could happen here tbh.
D Angelo Barksdale
National Team After those tremendous results against Austria and Scotland, we actually had an outside chance of making the playoff if we won our last 2 games. Spoiler 3 down after 20 minutes in Israel and that was that. A plucky showing against an already qualified Denmark. Genuinely don't think we deserved to finish 2nd bottom of the group after beating Scotland and Austria, those 2 defeats to Israel will haunt us. Nations League draw. Slovakia huge favourites, not much between the rest, so we need to avoid relegation here at a bare minimum.
D Angelo Barksdale
IF We're in the Kobenhavnsserien and are 2nd favorites for the title behind Hvidovre who receive 3x as much sponsorship income than the rest of the league combined. 10 teams, 18 game season with the winners going straight up and the runners up of this and the other divisions at this level into a one off semi then final at a neutral venue. Lost 2 1st teamers from last year, the additions aren't really anything to write home about, but all are more than good enough for this level according to my scouts and should get some game time this season.
D Angelo Barksdale
MB 3 defeats on the trot ended our hopes of a play off place. Closer than last year though, but ultimately it's a 3rd season in the bottom tier. Managed to get a youth intake preview this year as I now have a Director of Football. (still no Assistant manager after 16 months though) Hopefully some of these lads are alright, I have 6 of my 1st team squad retiring.
D Angelo Barksdale
IF Breezing through 2022 on all fronts here. We've not had it all our own way, those back to back defeats could end up being quite damaging. That 4 month winter break now, 6 games remaining to secure at least a play off place.
D Angelo Barksdale
National Team After beating Austria and Scotland in 2021, 2022 was a load of shite. Clowncar defending cost us a couple of wins and safety. A playoff against either Luxemburg, Gibraltar or Azerbaijan to stay in Group C, hopefully Gibraltar. A couple of good friendly wins to end the year on a better note. A derby with Iceland and hopefully we can embarrass the Failed Statelet.
D Angelo Barksdale
MB Season 3 in the basement and we've been drawn in the 7 team group again, so a 12 game season at the very least, (Kevin Keegan voice* I'd love it if we could get out this fucking division) Our finances as looking quite a bit healthier thanks to an affiliate deal with a top tier side bringing in 3.5k a year now. As a result we've managed to finally start upgrading facilities and coaching. What the f**k does a guy have to do to get an assistant manager around here ?
D Angelo Barksdale
IF We're still in with a chance of the title here. Spoiler 3 wins were not enough unfortunately. Fair play to B1908 who only lost once and beat us twice. Playoffs it is then.
