Iraq was 2003 and no hacks lost their jobs for it. If you’re in the group you can do what you like unless you come for someone else in the clique (much like this website! #WhatsApp)

A BBC hack, Andrew Gilligan, along with the Director General and Chairman lost their jobs for telling the truth and the BBC have been craven ever since.

I see Kevin Hague accepted a 20 million quid investment into his Lothian Broadband group this week. Good for him, rural broadband is a worthy project.

He seems at pains not to mention that the money is from from Scottish National Investment Bank though. I suppose an initiative that was a direct result of work from Yes activists coming out of the 2014 referendum would make that a bit uncomfortable for him.

Is that the pet food guy?

Torcuil Crichton. Awful, awful character.

I've only ever heard him on the radio but I get the impression he thinks that he's some sort of big time Charlie. When in reality he's a patronising arsehole.

He’s as bitter and biased a journalist as there is, and he’s one of the worst writers I’ve ever read.

But yes, fully believes he is a mover and shaker in the corridors of power.

You know he is sitting there absolutely choking for someone to call him anti-catholic so he can trot out his pre-prepared reply.

It's the snivelling about "cultural elites" from your weekly column in as close as Scotland gets to a paper of record, alongside regular writing in the guardian and the national, while knowing full well that everyone else in a similar position broadly agrees with your cultural mores

I've accidentally stumbled across someone called Dan McCorskrie, he claims to be a media commentator (whatever that is) but a quick look at his Twitter shows that right wing client journalism is in full swing here as well as down south. He's basically part of the Tory party machine with his "work"

Still as bitter as ever

Wonderful

A sweaty land-whale accusing anyone else of “exuding a fug” is pretty remarkable. You have to imagine that there is a perimeter of several miles around Daisley that exudes a fug of kebab grease, malodorous BO, stale urine, and O-zone depleting flatulence.

I read this article and it follows many of recent times in which McWhirter has sold his journalistic integrity to dance to the right-wing editorial tune of The Herald.

His colleague Kevin McKenna meanwhile has the best job in Scotland; write basically the same two articles repeatedly thro the year on a 4/1 ratio.  One is a condemnation of the SNP littered with references to 'elites' and cod appeals on behalf of the poorest communities, and the second is basically a regular rant against anyone who does not share his religious indoctrination.

I often wonder how Scottish society would survive without the contributions of these sages.
