Are these clubs not being held back by the lack of opportunity and the self preservation of SPFL teams? No, they're being held up by the self-preservation of tier 5 - the Highland and Lowland Leagues respectively. It is absolutely nothing to do with the SPFL that they are all playing at tier 6, and it baffles belief that anyone thinks otherwise.

Auchinleck Talbot Banks O'Dee Clydebank Cove Rangers Darvel East Kilbride Edinburgh City Kelty Hearts Three have won promotion play-offs to SPFL2 with some LL /HL play off clubs not making the step up because they lost a play-off against a bottom SPFL2 side. With automatic relegation another three(?) sides would have reached SPFL2. We will never know if the likes of Brora Rangers etc would have survived at the next step up or if relegated sides would have bounced straight back up. It's the unfair rules currently in place that prevents anyone from finding out. Interesting that it would not apparently have strengthened Tier 5 if three "stronger" SPFL sides had been relegated? OH! OK then! I have absolutely no idea what point this flailing, Catherine Wheel of fail is trying to make. The SPFL is not responsible for Darvel and Auchinleck choosing to stay in the Juniors while Cove and Kelty embraced a greater opportunity.

Thats why you’ve got 1/3 chance of promotion if you are the winner of the wosfl.
