Scotland v Ukraine

We are Scotland, we are almost certainly not going to win against a Bale inspired Wales who are looking to end 64 years of not qualifying for the World Cup, with,as they would see it, at least one of those non-qualifications being at the 'hands' of cheating 'Jocks'.  Cardiff on Sunday will be hellish.  But you know what, with all that being true, we might well still do it. In which case it will be the finest acheivement of any Scottish side, club or international.

What the f**k you on about?

We'll pump Ukraine then go to Cardiff, pump Wales and watch Bale go off in tears knowing he was retired by Stevie Clarke and his men.

We've got a better squad than Wales.

I'm making no predictions for the weekend. Too many unknowns, especially over injuries.  Even assuming we win tomorrow!

Having said that, if we get to the weekend and pump Wales rotten, I'd regard that as a brilliant few days.

Patterson now confirmed as out of the reckoning for tomorrow, many had already suspected that would be the case. O'Donnell almost certainly will start at RB now (he may even have did so had Patterson been available anyway).

Pity, could have done with someone on the right getting to the bye line and crossing. But quite happy with Patterson too.

That's without question.  What is also without question is they get better results.

Getting pumped up for this now but nervous too.

The PC brigade can do one. Will happily sing the Ukraine anthem after the game or at any other time but won't be singing it before the match.

Get into them Scotland !

Would prefer HIckey over O'Donnell but can understand he'll pick O'Donnell.

That has got to be the worst suggestion i have ever seen as an alternative to penalties.

Conveniently it’s the exact 2 scenarios she deduced would have seen England win the euros final (although the first one doesn’t even make any sense).

A complete whopper.

Goals scored per minute played is one of those rare things that's so unbelievably stupid that it has you scratching your head wondering if you are actually the one thats too stupid to understand.

If you're being (very, very, very, very, very, exceptionally, exceedingly) generous then you might take it to mean that she was meaning those who have a goal(s) for longer than the other team should win, so if a team scores in the 3rd minute they have 87 minutes of a goal, whereas a team scoring in the 80th minute only has 10.

Or some mental shit. Still makes no sense and still an absolutely ridiculous bag of nonsense that was solely a poor veiled sycophantic vote grab attempt.

She's an idiot.

It's still rather puzzling that people can't accept penalties as a means of declaring a winner anyway. The teams players including the goalie all get a a chance to influence the outcome, with no more luck involved than a deflected goal or a dodgy penalty that might otherwise settle a match.

Why do folk want arbitrary stats to settle it rather than a genuine shootout that needs skill and bottle.

PENALTIES ARE A LOTTERY!!!!

But aye, I completely agree with you. In fact, I'd scrap extra time and go right to penalties. 90 odd minutes is plenty time to settle a game. The consequences for not doing so are known by all in advance and are well established. The mewling about it needs to pipe down.
