Scotland v Ukraine

We’ll likely have to pick and choose our team selections through this period, know Clarke likes to keep changes to a minimum but players will be out on their feet otherwise. This is where having a stronger squad like we have now will really come in handy.

Was really hoping to get a bye in all honesty. The whole world will be against us winning this one and the officials will definitely feel pressurised to favour Ukraine in split decisions. Perhaps better just to get parped out now instead of getting our hopes up, just to lose to a Gareth Bale screamer.

How about Grant Hanley to go through him in the first 5 mins taking him out of the game, then we can take our chances with 10 men against the 'superstars' that are Ramsey & James - thoughts?

All this fear of Bale - he's the definition of a one man team - cut his supply which we can do by having a stronger midfield then limit his space and we can take Wales, man-for-man we have as much if not more talent that the Welsh IMO. Its the Ukraine that's the harder game - motivation and national pride will be so high for these guys, it'll be team commitment and siege mentality that is probably unparalleled.

Maybe it's a Liverpool v Real CL Final and Robbo takes him out in the latter stages of that?!

Five national games in fourteen days might be first world problems, but, yeesh!

I’d like to think we can beat Armenia at home with our second choice XI. They’re no mugs, but we have strength in depth now.

Kelly

Hendry-Halkett-McKenna

Ralston-Jack-McLean-Taylor

Armstrong

Brown-Christie

That would mean our preferred XI played Wednesday, (Sunday?), Saturday, Tuesday, which shouldn’t be too bad.

Delighted we’ve finally got clarity now.

Wonder how many horrendous takes like this one that’s dawned my timeline that we’ll get in the run up to the game.

It’s possible to condemn Putin and the war and hope for peace soon but at the same time hope we hit 6 past Ukraine and leave their football team devastated, I don’t think Putin is going to withdraw due to a Yarmolenko masterclass.

Fucking inty them Scotland.

I see Rakitskiy is playing for Shakhtar tonight  and there’s many a debate about his possible inclusion in the national team  for the Scotland game. It would cause a fair bit of controversy if he was included in the squad but he might have to if there is limited options.

Major flaw in this plan is that it involves Bale actually getting on to the pitch in the CL final.

Gareth Bale - 1 freekick a year aside - is a fairly average player now IMO.  He looked woeful at Spurs and hasn't played again this year at Madrid probably preferring the golf courses.

A crisis stricken Ukraine then Bale & Wayne Hennessey's Wales is the best chance any team could ever get of getting to a world cup. We have more players, playing at high levels with better teams than the both of them. No excuses.

Bale was excellent for his last couple of months at Spurs and is Wales’ talisman regardless of club form/appearances. What a load of pish.

Reports that Uefa have offered Ukraine a training base in Slovenia to prepare for the Scotland game. All systems go.

That’s confirmed. Initial squad list looking (all Ukraine based players) looks the strongest possible, which means when the foreign based players are available, Ukraine will have everyone barring injuries available.
