Thank you, that simply backs up my point.

It is, to all reasonably minded individuals, not fair for someone to stop a ball with their hand and not be punished. The laws around this are constantly changing, this ruling was introduced recently and the person you are 'defending' are themselves pushing for those rules to be changed once more, which would lead some to suggest your answer of "it's in the rules" to be somewhat lacking in permanence.

All @Arch Stanton did was extrapolate those rules, based on someone else's post, and provide a ridiculous scenario where someone is not punished for something the vast majority of people would believe they should be.
