Who will be the next manager to leave their job?

I'd imagine a few neutrals would be looking at Dens Park but we Dee's realise we are stuck with McPake for the forseeable as he has now become the longest serving manager in the top flight at present and has little to no chance of being the next to go.

Stephen Glass seems to have kept the wolf from the door by getting Aberdeen back on track and Malky's smashing of Dundee has undoubtedly bought him a bit of time. Jack Ross is in a sticky spell at the moment, but surely has enough in the bank just now. The likes of Jim Goodwin & Callum Davidson have too much stock within their club that they'd easily survive a very shite, relegation threatened season.

Really hard one to call at present IMO.

Would guess the next manager to leave is likely to be poached rather than sacked. So Goodwin/Davidson seem the obvious shouts.

No idea about Neilson and whether he'd leave again. Alexander probably still has decent stock down south so could get a job there too

Wee bit of pressure building on Jack Ross at Hibs?

Especially with Alex Neil doing quite a bit of punditry up here just now.

No chance either of the Saints managers being sacked but as RG says, maybe a shout for either of them to be poached.

Pressure is right on McPake too but he is derry'd oot his nut and the Dundee board normally sack their manager way too late.

Agreed. As exemplified with Gerrard,  it’s poaching season (from the impetuous south) not sacking season (in the conservative north) for the foreseeable in Scotland. Come the festive season some fingers might get twitchy but I doubt it this year.

Think if it was up to the fans then McPake and MacKay would be away, Martindale was getting FB posters calling for his head, but the 4 games unbeaten run has shut them up for now, should have the backing of the majority of our fans for what he's done at the club too, being in the management team since League One winning season, but fans are very fickle and a bad run of defeats can see knee jerk reactions wanting a manager sacked.

Went for Glass, could easily have picked Mackay. Alexander was tempting too, but that win over Aberdeen has me thinking he'll be fine, or at least more fine than Glass. Anyone voting for McPake is either a hopeful Dee or a thick non-Dee.

None whatsoever from Hibs, and that's from the chief exec as of this week.

Those who voted for him just wasted their vote or are attention seeking dafties.

Alexander's name often pops up with fans down South who seem to like the idea of him (the fact that one of his clubs went into free fall after he left and another haven't kicked on helps). The fact that broadly he has a decent-good win % with Fleetwood, Scunthorpe and Salford puts him in a good place and Gary Neville recently trying to walk back his sacking puts an extra bit of gloss on things.

Still feels a bit early for him to jump though. The win against Aberdeen feels massive now as there were strong "will Motherwell ever win a game again" vibes happening. Especially after Bobby Madden's interventions when we were 2-1 up with 12 mins to go against St Mirren.

As it goes, it was a reminder that Murderball can still work and sitting on 18 points we're probably only about 7 wins from safety with 20 games to play til the split. Our form over the past 8 games (including the 5 without a win) was an average of 1 ppg. Even that sort of average between now and the end of the season would see us safe (probably with a bit to spare).

With all that in mind along with the fact we've brought Alexander's guy in as HoR and the guy who was at Salford with him at Head of Medicine and Performance it seems unlikely that we'd sack Alexander (he's got a contract to 2023 as does his assistant).

We've invested pretty heavily in him when it's come to playing staff as well. We were dishing out 3 year deals like sweeties in the summer.

As much qs I'd love it to be Malky Roy has invested too much into him. Ross is the most likely, but Hibs will no doubt go on a wee run again to get the heat off him somewhat.

Nah we won’t.  Our schedule before the new year is terrible.  Jack Ross can go back to playing some dodgy looking bad guy in panto.

Normally if a manager gets a "vote of confidence" from the higher-ups then it usually signifies there is pressure building from somewhere, whether that be internal or external (fans).
