The Ghost of B A R P
Routine win for Killie... or another hard-fought but uninspiring draw to keep the Gus bus rolling? The absence of Oksanen and McEntee would suggest the former. He's gone from 'verge of the sack' to 'unbeaten in four' in one swift humping of Dunfermline, but nothing that happens here or away to Raith is likely to have much effect (although what happens in December will probably determine our season).
AsimButtHitsASix
With McEntee out and, possibly, McLean as well maybe Gus will finally play Ledger. More likely he'll shoehorn Blues or Muirhead in at right back or centre back but we can live in hope. Can see this ending as a dreech 0-0.

Seriously following up a shafting of the bottom club, beating the top club in the division will send us spinning and most of the Ton posters might have to reconsider the dump Gus campaign. So get real and let us concentrate on winning the bottom 5 battle.

Stevie Aitken's Love Child
As other have pointed out, losing McEntee and Oksanen for this one is a big loss. Add that to McLean probably missing out through injury, then we're going to be short at the back. Likely have Hynes coming in at right back, which isn't ideal has he's looked like a fish out of water in the games he's played so far this season, and Ledger at centre half. This is Gus McPherson we're talking about here mind you, who has been prone to a surprise selection in just about every game. Not overly confident given the missing players. Would happily take a point. Edited November 9, 2021 by Stevie Aitken's Love Child
jagfox
If Morton can score first they have a great chance of an ‘upset’ win over Tommy Wright’s Kilmarnock.
Ken Deans
Last time saw Morton v Killie was a cup game. 5 2 Killie iirc. Was in the hospitality bit and pished. Please win Morton.

Calling it now: back three of Ledger, Lithgow and Strapp. Russell LWB and we'll see who the tombola picks out for RWB

This unfortunately is correct, score first, sit back and enjoy 3 points. This has been the Killie way this season.

madton
Missing 2 of our best players is a worry but Ledger and Jacobs are decent replacements. 1 loss in 7 is decent considering how poor we are buts that's down to our defence being relatively solid. Now that Gozie is back and Oliver has someone to play off, we might just about have an attacking threat back. too. Would imagine we will line up something like, Hamilton. Ledger McLean Lithgow Russell. Lyon Jacobs Blues Oliver Gozie Knowles Bench- Allan, Muirhead, Reilly, Strapp, Hynes, McGrattan If McLean doesnt make it, Hynes will prob start which is a worry as he has hardly played and he's not good enough. 1-1

the west curve
If Killie play as badly as last week, a 0-0 draw is on the cards.

Can anyone confirm whether there will be a PATG option for away fans? It's a ticket office at the entrance to the main stand rather than paying at the turnstiles but yes, tickets will be on sale there until kick off. With McEntee, McLean and Oksanen out, I can see us going back to more of a 4-3-1-2 shape here rather than the 4-4-2 from the Dunfermline game. We gave Dunfermline a lot of space in midfield which was fine because they are shite, but if we give Killie the same room they'll punish us, particularly as we're either going to have Hynes at right back or someone out of position at either right back or centre back so it's going to be a defence with obvious weak links. Jacobs in for Oksanen as well as McGrattan for Muirhead should pack the midfield out a bit more.
AsimButtHitsASix
Would rather Strapp came in at left back and pushed Russell into midfield than start McGrattan. Strapp's had a shite season but maybe being dropped is the kick up the arse he needs. As pointed out previously we don't have a bad squad and have options on different shapes and styles to play with it. We just don't seem to have the manager who can do that.

Something like a 4-4-1-1, with Strapp and Russell doubling up on the left, Oliver playing off Ugwu and those two taking it in turns to drift high and right. Spoiler IRL: we'll get Muirhead.
vikingTON
Agree that Strapp should replace Muirhead to try and make us much more solid for this game, and I think it's more likely than not that McPherson will make more than the enforced changes due to our elite international players being away. Whether the tombola lands on something that at least looks decent on paper is anyone's guess though. With our defensive absences as well as Oksanen I can't see us keeping a clean sheet, so unless Ugwu causes serious damage at the other end I'm expecting an away win.
