Martin Lewis was getting savaged on Twitter for daring to tweet about a means of saving on energy bills last night. The favourite line of the grief-porn wankers was “READ THE ROOM”.

Someone fairly asked whether the energy companies had shut down meters for the night…

Now trying to get us to capitalise "mourning". Literally no end to their attempts at mind control

I have to wonder if people genuinely feel moved to do all this shit or just enjoy the theatre of it and the feeling of history.

Pity basketball isn't bigger in Blighty or the Heat could be in for a bonanza of Alonzo jersey sales to the gammons

Alonzo Mourning Jersey - NBA Miami Heat Alonzo Mourning Jerseys - Heat Store

Have to admit that having just actually seen and heard Charles' jet flying back to London first-hand, the whole thing just became that bit more 'real' for me (i.e. no longer just something on the TV).

Couldn't help but think "ooft, that's the king up there 😬", albeit in a 'A-list celebrity in real life' type way.

Interesting to see how many of the “Open everything! End this nonsense!” crowd during the pandemic are now crying, “Close everything! Show some respect!”

Certainly not me.

Im a Unionist and moderate supporter of our  constitutional  monarchy but this is just madness.

Al that was required was a minutes silence at all games (maybe not a good idea forCeltic fans) and that would be fine by me.

Looking ahead, presumably there will be a State Funeral and what will that bring?

The loss of GDP must be considerable.

Tesco getting absolute pelters and facing boycotts because they had the audacity to change their FB banner to something involving blueberries/brambles rather than something queen related.

They've turned their comments off sadly, but f***ing hell  😆

Apparently the state funeral will not be a bank holiday (as was predicted for a while). It’s likely to be on a Sunday anyway. Apart from the enforced grief porn across the mainline channels, cancellations of games and some events, and a hazy and undefined nine days of “national mourning”, nothing is really happening. Certainly, nothing positive is being given to her beloved subjects - we’re just having things taken away.

It looks like the might be saving the “positive” stuff for a coronation, which will probably be mid-summer next year (to try and re-enact the jubilee and to be as far as possible from two potentially crippling winters).

Don't forget his Guinness Book of Records entry for the longest apprenticeship in the history of humankind.

Actually, where is all this stuff coming from?

It does rather remind me of the pandemic when Governments were scared to do anything that might be looked upon as being ‘uncaring’. One organisation blithely follows anther.

Cant believe this comes rom the Royal Family?

Where do the SPFL/SFA take their lead from?

According to Nicholas Witchell - who granted is a complete and utter fucking moron - it will likely be a bank holiday and cannot take place on a Sunday.

I mean he's already changed his tune from Charles being flown from Aberdeen to Northolt in an RAF aircraft to it being a private charter in the time it took to fly there.

Fear of “getting it wrong”? Cyber-beefeaters piling on (as has happened to Martin Lewis, Tesco, etc.)?
