its a major f**k-up and thoughts and prayers etc etc but I question the coverage it is getting. It is on BBC Radio Scotland news as I type FFS. I don't recall similar blanket coverage when a stuntman died on Deadpool 2 a couple of years ago. In fact am sure there have been other deaths and accidents on movie sets since that have barely been reported outside of the industry journals .....

Fair comment. There are lots of accidents including deaths on TV and movie sets (Batwoman for example had a very bad run of these). I think the coverage here is because the shot was fired by a very famous actor.

It's not that common that the star shoots the director and blows the head off the cinematographer.

I'm surprised that anyone needs that pointed out to them.

so because an American actor - reasonably famous from TV - accidentally shoots someone with a prop gun then you agree this should be one of the leads on BBC Radio Scotland news and run on the hour every hour (or there abouts)?

That to me is bizarre.

You honestly can't see the difference between an unknown stuntman dying performing a stunt and a Hollywood actor shooting somebody dead?

Of course the news will be all over it like a rash.

Combination of a slow news day and some genuine talking points. I have been in 2 meetings today and it was mentioned in both, so it has captured the imagination.

I am clearly in a minority here 😂

They had someone on Radio Scotland analysing the event which amounted to sweet FA information (obviously). I get that entertainment and magazine type news shows will run with this to within an inch of its life but I genuinely struggle to see how it is main news for every broadcaster. Wonder if it will appear on STV news tonight.

You're trying to work this into your film, aren't you?

This workshy colleague of yours is going to get it in the staff canteen.

captured the imagination because everyone is running with it. Or maybe its an OJ Simpson type event and I am completely out of touch with what constitutes news and how that conflates with an obsession with "celebrities"....

Got Oaksoft on the script already, though the amount of pornography he is adding in is eye-watering.

This will make for a nice twist to the plot.

At least it's bumped Queen Liz down the running order.

Actor Alec Baldwin has killed someone on set during filming. He fired a prop gun which killed the Director of Photography, Halyna Hutchins. He also injured another person on set. Presumably, this has been a terrible accident.

Have any P&B posters ever killed a work colleague, accidentally or otherwise?

Have any P&B posters seriously injured a work colleague, accidentally or otherwise?

Any other P&B posters wondering why the f**k a gun capable of killing someone was being used in a working environment?

Do cows 🐄 class as colleagues?

Would you prefer it if they ran with the cat stuck up a tree?

it came above the horror story that is drivers to be inconvenienced because of some COP road closures.

I would have thought the Acorn carbon capture story and the assurances offered by the UK Government would have mad more mileage and would maybe be worth highlighting on an hourly basis rather than Alex Baldwin. Wonder what the reporting would have bene like if it were William or Stephen....

A big celebrity killed someone. It's a grade A* media event.

It's like Prince Andrew being a nonce. They are everywhere but he is the one we want hear about.
