A point we make quite often - our pre-match updates are equally much a waste of time, they have little relation to the squad that get a strip the next day. Yep, agree with this. My first ever visit to Dumbarton for an away match and it was a grand day out apart from the first half and getting soaked at Dumbarton East and Dalmuir stations on the way home. Thought Queen's were pretty poor during that first half but considerable improvement in the second when they stopped the non stop lobbing of hopeful balls into the middle. Have the feeling there's potential for this team to be better going forward than they have been in the last few weeks. Hope they build on that second half in the game on Sunday v Alloa.

Agree with the point about Baynham, the veil of secrecy about him, Grant and Quitongo is baffling and infuriating in equal measure. Managers only want to talk about injured players when they're just about fit. Seems to me that's been the situation forever. When did you ever hear Gus talk about players who weren't in the team? Ditto every head coach at QP that I can remember. It's been said on the site that Quitongo and Baynham are both training. That they're not in any squad to date tells you that they're not ready to play yet.

Not that they have to give out such information, but even just a bit of detail on what their actual respective injuries are would be ideal? I can’t recall one time they’ve mentioned what injury quitongo or grant picked up which is the frustrating part more than anything cause of how long they’ve been on the sidelines and the fact they’re pretty crucial players to the team Even the days under Gus and previous managers, if a player was out for up to 6-8 months, we’d at the very least know what injury they’ve picked up Edited October 18, 2021 by qpfc

Match previews on the STV teletext in the 90s used to tell us who was a doubt, who was injured, whether a guy called Wale Kwik-Ajet was going straight into the squad after signing. I think it’s reasonable for fans to know if their two best players aren’t going to be in the side, or are doubtful. Standard practice for pretty much every other club.
Bring Your Own Socks
Did we not just have a meeting that had communications on the agenda? Maybe nobody asked the direct question. Quitongo seems an approachable type so just ask him at a game. I’ve heard whispers but his timescale might not be what the doc says. I doubt he’ll be back as a match-fit regular much before Santa comes. He will be back though. I wouldn’t be shocked if Grant doesn’t take the field again. I should qualify this as purely speculative but still marginally better than nothing. I’m going to focus more on the improvements from our fit players. For a while anyway. And keep a keen eye on that development squad.
