Add James Maxwell to the list of Ayr loans that I’m absolutely in love with that will break my heart when they leave at the end of the season.

Was a bit pissed off when he didn't come back to Queens this season to be fair ....

Did a couple of your own fans not say that he wasn’t the biggest fan of Johnson?

I doubt he’ll be kept on at Rangers anyway so this loan might just be a case of engineering a permanent move in the summer. Comes from an Ayr supporting family.
Did Maxwell not actually get sent off at Somerset for diving in the box against us last season?

Aye on the opening day when Michael Miller scored a brace.

That's a rumour that often circulates ........ and not related only to this manager.

I'd be surprised if Maxwell had a major issue with Allan Johnston, he played him in every game he was available iirc. Players usually have an issue with Managers if they're not getting games. Maybe the fact he didn't come back here on loan has got people putting two and two together and making five.

Really?

I thought he had quite a poor game on Saturday. Yes he took his goal well but I didn't see much from him other than that to get me excited.

He certainly wasn't alone in that regard. This team is screaming out for a playmaker. Afolabi is utterly gash and Salkeld just runs about a lot. We've got a very decent striker but not much to feed him with.

Yes, first half he was poor but then apart from our GK so was everyone else. Thought he played well second half. Scored, won a penalty and was unlucky to have one chalked off for offside. I think saying he had quite a poor game is maybe a tad harsh.

I thought he was poor in the first half simply because he was playing on the right and he absolutely isn’t that type of winger. On the left he is more effective and making that change plus putting Chalmers on swung the game in our favour.
