Darvel legend
Well that’s a precedent set , I’ve seen worse often and no one thrown out a competition
craigkillie
Wouldn't be surprised if that was enough for both to bin off the SJFA and the Junior Cup permanently. Edited October 6, 2021 by craigkillie

craigkillie
Why not? They've been treated extremely harshly compared to lots of previous similar cases and they've got to be wondering whether it's worth all the hassle for what is now a minor tournament in the grand scheme of things.
The craw
why only fine 1 club n no the other? as fr pollock they like 2 look dwn at other clubs tut tut
Arthurlie1981
This seems extremely harsh considering in the past clubs have been given a slap on the wrists by the SJFA when there fans have shouted racist abuse at an opposing player.

Not really a like for like comparison. Clubs can't really stop fuckwits shouting things but can stop themselves getting into mass brawls.

Possibly, not early enough though if you look at some of the other stuff that has taken place this year. A move into a professional set up means that expectations in behaviour have increased and this is a warning to other clubs who have been sailing close to the wind.

Maybe the previous similar cases weren't harsh enough, and perhaps new people at the SJFA have learned the lessons of the past? They didn't have too many options - and let's be honest neither side deserved to go through if you've seen the videos. The result standing at 2-1 and fining Pollok doesn't really seem enough punishment for them. Replaying the game for something that happened with two minutes to go would mean finding a suitable ground (Meadow Park?) and playing midweek before the next round.

Pollok fans seem to have accepted the punishment as reasonable. They were there ... we were not.
Inanimate Carbon Rod
Shame to see both clubs kicked out, maybe a financial penalty of the entire gate for the replay going to an anti violence or male mental health charity would have been a much better outcome.

If it had been a points deduction for a league game under the same circumstances they'd currently be doing their dinger I suspect. Andy groundhopper
Guessing every F.A is trying to do the right things, hypocrisy will no doubt appear. Harsh on clubs, they take the gate money without knowing who the idiots are - doubt many stewards want to get involved tbh. Let's see how regularly these things happen - and what punishment is dished out.

It was the players that got the game abandoned, not the fans.

I guess Vics can simply resign their membership and tell them to poke their fine.
bankieholm4me4
Sensible decision from the beaks the vast majority of people will agree. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
