It’s good to know that if frustrated motorists fancy giving a group of protestors a nudge with their motor, the police and society in general are okay with it. Nobody wants to be inconvenienced in this busy world. The motorist is obviously still king, despite the state of the roads.

Does it only work for groups of protestors or are all pedestrians fair game?

You could say the state of the roads is because the motorist is still king - too many cars on the road, heavier vehicles nowadays causing more damage, billions in lost revenue from the fuel duty freeze for governments/councils to make repairs.

The police, courts, and society in general are ok with five people being killed on Britain's roads and pavements each day.

After the case of a cyclist being jailed for 18 months (for riding without a front brake and hitting someone crossing the road - it makes news because it's highly unusual), this depressing as f**k twitter thread was posted showing just how seriously we actually take death/injury on our roads:

The rage in that article that someone who literally deliberately drove their car into someone has been charged, while the victim who was sitting on the ground doing nothing hasn't, is both astonishing and entirely predictable

Brilliant news.

Dangerous driving and assault would be a fairly serious charge sheet. Is jail time likely if she's found guilty?

Yeah, I mean its the daily mail so you could have called it nae bother, but giving her a platform to roll out that list of horrendous excuses for driving a large vehicle at someone is just awful. All that utter shit about single parents and working class etc..... Jesus Christ.

I'm looking forward to her court outfit.

Biff Whipster? Sounds like a character from the Beano who becomes the fastest boy in the world when he wears his magic plimsolls.

Then he grew up and became a retail worker and activist. His childhood plimsolls still call to him from a closet in the bedroom, oblivious that they no longer fit his adult feet.

Ripe for a reboot where he meets a poor disabled orphan who dreams of winning the prestigious School Running Cup.

Tbf if he feels contact he's got every right to go down there.

She doesn't sound particularly remorseful and her answer at the end suggests that she would consider acting illegally if confronted with a similar scene, unless there is another reason her actions would require the police to get involved? And be biased against her?

Her son can manage to get the bus, she can put her superhero cape back in the wardrobe and shut the f**k up from now on.

I hope she gets life without parole, based entirely on the car she’s driving.

Sentencing next month so we’re still on for this.
