But the outcome would have been identical had it not been in place.

How do you know, if VAR wasn't there who's to say the Lino or Ref would've given the offside, or not awarded 2 pens or the Porteous being pushed goal as a foul. VAR at the very least is given the officials confidence to make big decisions knowing VAR will check it to make sure it's correct, may well be giving them a kick up the arse to make sure they do their jobs properly too knowing they're under more scrutiny. I've seen Clancy making more than our fair share of wrong calls to question if he'd have got all those right without VAR being there keeping him right.

Why would the on-field decision have been different if VAR hadn't been there? The referees still have to award the decision they think it is, because there is then some degree of evidence required to overturn that. The outcome of a VAR check will very often be different if the referee awards a goal/penalty compared to if he didn't, since it requires a clear and obvious error to overturn the decision. It would be wrong to referee the game any differently (aside from occasionally delaying the decision).

He has more confidence to give the decision knowing var will check it straight after meaning meaning he can go about his business with out the worry whether he got it wrong last night I thought it was glaringly ovb last night as it was a strong refereeing performance by Clancy who can get wrong quite a lot

That's interesting isn't it.

Two players that are accused of cheating all the time, and their fan base were apoplectic that their favourites were being unfairly maligned, are found out to be cheating in literally the first game of VAR they play in.

Absolutely delighted Boyle got caught, his character has been trashed off the field so it's only right that is reflected on the pitch too now.

I’m not sure one persons opinion of him on an online forum about his move to Saudi can be considered as his character being trashed.

Wait, a post appeasing religious bigotry and hatred? From a Rangers supporter?

Surely not... :o

Aye, cos that’s what I was doing in my post right enough 😂

The comment was intended as humour, I should have put more emojis in there. I know "the youth" love emojis.. ;)

What isn't humour, of course, is the Saudi government assassinating women, children and those in the LGBTQ+ community simply because their views don't strictly adhere to some crazy person who thought they could fly 100s of miles on a flaming horse.

Boyle will forever be tainted by his association, and the fact he never took his own wife or daughter to the country shows, deep down, he knew.

What utter bollocks, the only person trying to make this "something" is you...............and we all know that you have a history of posting increasing levels of shite until you have to take a wee rest from the forum.

Have you ever actually watched a game with VAR before? Far more often than not, officials just wash their hands rather than making a big decision and wait for the other clown watching a screen to tell them what to do next. It's a shitebag's charter.

may well be giving them a kick up the arse to make sure they do their jobs properly too knowing they're under more scrutiny.

The VAR official for last night's game was Willie Collum, and the SFA's head of officials (not exact title) is Crawford fucking Allan. They're in no position to kick anyone else up the arse for incompetence.

The linesman keeping his flag down to allow play to continue is probably the biggest one.

The time between the attacking player being offside. And lino flagging, imo a player could be seriously injured. Who's fault would that be 🤔

The linesman keeping his flag down to allow play to continue is probably the biggest one.

But they are still supposed to put their flag up and give the decision at the end of the passage of play, which is exactly what happened in that game.

Marginal calls have been taking away,Before the linesman would make the call straight away and stand with his flag up.

I'm sure that Peter has safeguards in place so that celtic still get marginal calls in their favour.
