Pollok v Talbot 2nd October

Recommended Posts

Honestly 3 penalties and no sure any of them were
a big leishman blunder which doesn’t happen very often
looked like pollok centre half got red card for choice words with the Talbot support
Longmuir was outstanding second half
Kudos to both teams for serving that up in spite of the referee

Longmuuir was outstanding all game not just second- half. His first half saves from Boylan & Hyslop were outstanding.

Spoke to the centre as he went into dressing room he said fans behind goal were giving him pelters to get up and get on with it (fkn thrown in) he replied give us 2 fkn minutes ref red carded him for it.

It’s one of these things-give any referee any excuse and they will clamp down.Got to learn to shut out the fans although I know it’s hard

If Brownlie spent less time arguing with fans, refs and teammates he'd be some player.

He has been superb since coming from Linlithgow and not even sure if he had a booking before today!A great replacement for Gal and if he had stayed on the park I am sure we would have won

That's good.  His history at Rose consisted of a lot of dissent and arguing.

Only basing it on the goal highlights below, but it does seem like all three penalties were correct - and if the ref hears a player telling fans to f**k off and calling them p***ks then there's no option but to send them off.

First penalty is for a shirt pull, second penalty is a shove/trip on a player (no idea why as they weren't getting the ball) and for the third penalty there's some holding and a raised leg/knee to the face. Ref has done well to spot them but, if you did those anywhere else on the park it would be a free kick.

However the referee probably made a mistake at the first penalty itself - if the Talbot goalie hasn't touched it then the kicker cannot touch the ball again. And the final goal looks to be just offside (can't see #11) though that's that assistant's fault.

Will see about the rest when the full highlights come out...
