All in a days work mate 😜

Seriously though, Allan Johnston mentioned it yesterday, we will be paying similar or more than some of the bottom half clubs, for more experienced guys too. 2 days intense training and doing their own fitness routines and we are cooshty.

I get what you mean though they’re not just wins they’ve been high scoring wins. If Nicky Low scores that penalty in Ayr we could’ve been looking at

Ayr 0-3 Arbroath

Arbroath 3-1 Partick Thistle

Dunfermline 0-3 Arbroath

Arbroath 4-0 Hamilton

Qots 0-2 Arbroath

Which is absolutely wild. The last 4 wins though have been mental too. Great form but has to end soon

It shows the difference between being a good manager and being a wee gobshite who carps on about “philipsophy” and benches the best players.

Really looking forward to this one as, personally speaking, it encapsulates the few positives of our relegation: different team, different players, different town and a different stadium. There’s only so many visits to Motherwell you can handle before losing the will to live.

As far as I know, I’ve never been to Arbroath and haven’t seen a game at the ground. Will enjoy ticking off another Scottish football ground.

As for the game/result, well, it’s one of the best scoring teams in the league against one of the best defences. Should be a good competition.

Hopefully its a nice night, and you guys have a good time at Gayfield! When did we last meet? But hopefully its a long bus journey home for many of you and 3 pts to the Lichties :)

This is an excellent summary of how I feel about this one, though you left out how fucking great it is not having to tolerate the two sets of mutants.

My whole family going through and making a weekend of it - 10 of us, including my 3 year old. Buzzing for it!

If we win we could go top after 7 games that is absolutely wild.

Bit of a headache for DC now after David Gold got sent off. I hope Colin Hamilton will be ok not sure what was up with him didn’t seem anything serious.

For me there’s 2 options to cover for Gold, put Stewart back to right back and play Dylan Paterson in front of him. Or straight swap David Gold out Chris Hamilton in.

On tv so hopefully doesn’t affect crowd too much. Going off our games so far I’d expect 1500 home and possibly 5/600 away going by what I’ve read from Killie fans.

Don’t think we’ve played competitively since 1991?

Will Scott Stewart, no just play in front of Jason Thomson

A lot of people missed the game due to the racing and as you’ve said will have decided to go to this game instead.

Is a ticket required for this game or can you just turn up?

Online ticket sales only for Arbroath home games now. Details are normally posted early/mid week.

It certainly wasn't supposed to come across like that, i have a soft spot for Arbroath, my Dutch girlfriends dad is a massive Arbroath fan I've attended a few games with him, I recall being at a game on Boxing day around 10 or so years ago that was abandoned because the ball was being blown around like a cheap fly away ball.

No worries. Just get this type of crap from opposition fans/management all the time. As if the the rest of Scotland is a benign, tropical paradise with no more than a gentle breeze. In my 40+ years of going to gayfield, I can think of no more than a handful (maybe two handfuls) of times when the games have been abandoned or massively affected by the wind. It’s also not a big advantage to Arbroath as we train in Perth, some of our players will have no more experience of playing in high winds than a player from any other team.

And every time we are on the TV the commentators act like it’s a hurricane blowing 😂  Billy Dodds v Thistle, ToB absolute rocket of a shot from 35 yards out tipped over the bar, absolutely zero credit for the ability to pull it off just wee Doddsy shouting ‘OHHHHHH THE WIND FAIR CAUGHT THAT’ 😂 just cliche is it. Forecast says 13mph winds with gusts up to 24 so will be the breeziest it’s been this season I think.

It’s just terrible, tired commentary/punditry/journalism all round. Just a constant stream of embarrassing cliches and inaccuracies.

If it’s not the wind then it’s the “tight pitch” which it isn’t, bobbly surface which it most definitely isn’t, big physical team etc etc.

I’ve  been to 3 home games this season so far and the weather has been fantastic for them all. But we’ll get one game in the middle of winter when the wind’s blowing and it gets used to reinforce the stereotype.
