Getting the first goal seems to be key for this Alloa side, so we were really fortunate with the early missed penalty as well as the other near things in or around the box.

We took an opportunist lead against the run of play,  then increased it with King's great strike. A 2-0 lead didn't reflect the first 45 minutes but we were happy to take it.

The 2nd half was good game management from us, but I also suspect Montrose became devoid of ideas and demoralised. Alloa would probably have been in a similar way if having to chase the game.

Couldn't make the game, but that was a terrific result. Agreed with the manager's changes to the starting eleven (although I'd always have wee Kev in there somewhere) and sounds like they worked well.

Delighted for Sena and King getting their first goals for Alloa, and two good goals they were, King's especially being quality.

The league is very much still taking shape and there seems to be at least seven teams who could well be in the mix. We are one of those teams. Dumbarton will be another good test.

Starting to get the feeling that we could scud a team 9-0 and fans would still begrudge giving the team and manager any credit. It's always ifs and buts when we get a result. We are three points from the top of the league.

Nothing wrong with looking beyond simply a scoreline and league table though, which never tell the whole story! And clearly we carried a wee bit of luck at the weekend.

2-0 away at a decent Montrose side is an excellent result and particularly impressive given our poor away form so far and after an uninspiring show midweek at Airdrie. Really happy to see Robertson in the middle of the park where he is at his best. Hopefully the team can build on it and try and get on a wee run. The quality of the league seems pretty mixed at the moment and we are very much in it despite some up and down performances as the new manager tries to find the right blend. If he does then there isn't much to fear.

Not true, a result thus against the Beano's or Bairns may attract such plaudits.

At the moment, we are on a very long roller coaster, once again he safety harness is in place and seats are suitably occupied, things may change.

BF is in a transitional period at the moment, as are some of the fans.
