Rhodes County v Heart of Midlothian

Recommended Posts

Our line-up looks like one of those ones clueless fans put up on forums, thinking they can play without a proper midfield and shoehorn 5 attackers into various positions and it'll automatically yield loads of goals. Seems a bit of a drastic departure from a system which has worked pretty well so far and likely only needed one or two tweaks.

Hopefully it works and it'll turn out I'm the clueless fan.

Awful time to concede.

We've missed at least 2 or 3 sitters and should have more than 1 goal but this system leaves us far more vulnerable at the back.

Anything between a 4-1 defeat and a 4-2 win feels possible at the moment.

County creating lots of chances this second half, need to make one of these count.

RCC has Hearts 15 & 19 on toast, surprised how fragile this hearts defence is.

15 is Taylor Moore who is the newly arrived understudy filling in Michael Smith

this is the first time he’s played 90 minutes this season so it might be a little early to judge him but his showing against Hibs wasn’t great either

hopefully he either picks up his game as he settles in or we don’t need to call on his services too often

Well that was frustrating.

Neilson gambled and lost (drew) with the team selection today. We created plenty of chances, particularly in the first half, but the extra defensive vulnerability cost us 2 points. It's not ideal when you're behind and you're having to make defensive subs.

Had so much of the game we should really have won it, but County had far too many chances from awful defending that we can't complain we didn't.

Still not really got the balance quite right but it's a decent start and have 3 of the next 4 at home so plenty to build on.

Agree, I don't think we've got any way of playing Boyce and Gnanduillet together that keeps Mackay, Woodburn and GMS in the team.

I liked the 3 5 2 we had at the end of last season, with Beni being an upgrade on McEneff.

If we're going to play a 4 at the back, and we look worse defensively if we do, then you play Boyce as a lone striker with two behind him imo
