Livi v Celtic

Recommended Posts

correct, smoke and mirrors. Livi had 5 players in their starting line up that were not at the club last season.  The players that Celtic signed were , presumably, at a higher level experience and ability wise that any we could attract to our club but on yesterdays showing were lacking in demonstrating any fight for the cause. Two wingers whos inability to cross a ball properly and a midfield who loved passing sideways and backwards led to the " shock" result. It will in all probability start to gel for Celtic but jeez they were awful yesterday.

For 20 million you could have got more than 11 players in and still finish second. This is just shite chat about players taking there time etc as most teams in the league have had big changes whether it be star players gone or new players brought in needing "time" to gel.

Confused as to what point your trying to make? Should we better than we are, yes we should be. Was the result a massive surprise? No it wasn’t.

We are still only 4 points from the top, we will get better once our best players are back and fit so it’s not like it’s a position we can’t recover from is it?

I also would have assumed you would be more concerned with your own position than ours.

Thats twice you have mentioned Dundee on a Livingston v Celtic thread, why?

As you seem to be more riled by Celtics spending and subsequent annual loss to Livi than you are riled by Dundee’s loss to Utd and subsequent position in the league.

We haven’t won there in what is it now? 14 years?

Why does it then surprise anyone that we continue to struggle there when we couldn’t win with better teams than this one especially coming off the back of a European game where we always seem to underperform.

‘So yeah disappointed but not surprised

Yep is the same for Livi, think it was a 15 player turnover this season, and only 5 players started who were here last season, and one was a fringe player just back from having a broken knee cap. We've had injuries and illness right from the league cup games too.

Celtic finishing 2nd is a given because of their vast resources, even when they're shite, purely because they'll show a bit more consistency than other teams, it isn't something to be proud of given the difference in budgets between them and the rest of the teams.

Was a massive surprise to almost all our fans, going on what i've read on forums and FB, as well as talking to friends, none of them thought we'd get a draw let alone a win, with the season we're having. Bottom of the league on 1 point before playing Celtic, only scored 3 goals in 5 league games, lost to Aberdeen and Motherwell at home already, and having so many injuries, covid, and other illnesses to contend with. They all thought me mad predicting us getting something against Celtic.

They don't seem very good playing away from home this season, but you could see them ripping us a new one at Parkheid, once they get that opening goal to settle them down it would be shooty in. Was quite a surprise how they fell apart after we scored, and started passing balls out of play, think they were as shocked us the Livi fans, of us being ahead.😂
