FairWeatherFan
For good spinoffs not sure if I've seen Better Call Saul mentioned. The Simpson was spun-off into its own show from the Tracey Ullman Show. I suppose Alan Partridge, Ali G, and Colbert Report solo stuff would count in that regard. I've never watched it personally, but Law & Order SVU is typically rated higher than the original.
Bert Raccoon
Put this in the good spin offs category. A spin off from Danger Mouse
YER SISTERS YER MAW
Not so much a spin-off but that Porridge sequel a few years ago was absolute tripe.
scottsdad
They made a Minder reboot about 10 years ago with Shayne Ritchie playing @Arthur daley nephew. I can only assume it was at least as good, if not better, than the original.
tamthebam
scottsdad's avatar reminds me that The Naked Gun films were spin offs from Police Squad. Another good spin off- Still Game. Angel wasn't too bad a spin off from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Paul Kersey
Scotsport First was a decent spin off from Scotsport, despite Derek Johnstone's monotone delivery. Edited September 9, 2021 by Paul Kersey
scottsdad
Frasier has been mentioned a few times as a good spin off - but it wasn't the only spin-off from Cheers. The Tortellis, centred around Carla's family, Cancelled after 13 episodes.
scottsdad
‘24’: “Active Creative Discussions” Underway To Bring Back Iconic Drama Series On Fox Even after the awfulness of 24:Legacy, they can't leave it alone. A fresh reboot perhaps coming.
FairWeatherFan
Speaking of current attempted spinoffs. After 'How I Met Your Mother' ended they tried to do 'How I Met Your Dad'. Which made it to a pilot with Greta Gerwig in the lead. They're now attempting it again, this time as 'How I Met Your Father' with Hilary Duff as the lead.

If I reply how bad it was il end up on the “heads gone thread” ,the “ray years” were better than the Shane Ritchie remake which is saying something in its self .
Raven
If The Simpsons counts, then so would Rab C. And possibly Rab B.
