We’re getting dominated by Israel in our own back yard and can have no complaints about the scoreline. They don’t have better players than us but they’re better organised and better coached. They’ve came here with a plan and they’re doing a job on us.I can see why Clarke has plumped for Paterson over SOD. The reality is neither of them is good enough for this level. SOD more solid defensively and Paterson offers more going forward. Similar with the McTominay over Cooper/McKenna. The latter two are stoppers, the former is a midfielder who should offer us more going forward.We are at home to a team below us in the rankings and we need to be winning. So he goes with the more attacking players, reasonable thinking really.The problem is we can’t retain any kind of possession in midfield - Gilmour and McGregor have been poor - and as a result Paterson’s and McTominay’s defensive frailties are being badly exposed. Both goals came from there and there could have been at least one moreCould have got away with it and got in level thanks to a bit of quality from McGinn, but Dykes messed it up. Draw is not enough here. We need to win. Huge 45 minutes required. Ridiculous foul to give away for the 2nd goal albeit we need to defend the free kick better.
