If so it would reduce the SOS to 11, the lowest number of clubs since 2013-14.

Makes sense if they want more of a challenge but don't want to go to the LL. They'd probably do well in the WOS Third Division, which would then have 20+ clubs and have to split in some way.

Something similar was talked about this time last year. If they do go then would they be the only ones to move?

This might force a discussion on whether tier 6 is the right level for the SoSFL, and if not how it would articulate with the WoSFL.

As licensed clubs Threave and Saints should go straight into the top division, not the fourth tier of the West.

They had that chance when the WoSFL started just like Bonnyton Thistle. Fortunately they know that if any of them are actually applying.

Definitely would along with the issue of where Gretna and Dalbeattie should be relegated to.

Gretna put a tweet out saying if they were to be relegated they would go to the SOSFL, so there would be a licenced club even if Threave and St Cuthberts move to the WOSFL

It's now unlikely Gretna will be relegated, their safety will be confirmed tomorrow unless Fraserburgh turn it around against Bonnyrigg.

The WoS New Clubs thread has a post listing just Threave from the SoS applying to join the WoS. It also has a post stating that the WoS might choose to go to a max 80 clubs. Should they be correct then it puts the WoS in the position of taking in a club from another Tier 6 League in preference to a club from within the area currently covered by the WoS. Any space taken by Threave would prevent a "local" club from access to the WoS.

Threave in the WoS sends out all of the wrong signals to the pyramid as a whole. Unless Tier 6 is altered by agreement via the PWG. Why should the SoS agree to anything of the sort?

Not saying either SoS or WoS is right or wrong here. Just stating the facts as I see them at present and FWIW.

Threave moving to the WoS might force them to start thinking about the best set up for the pyramid. I don't think the SoS will still be tier 6 in a few years time. Also, if Threave are accepted then presumably Gretna would have a choice about going to the WoS if they were to get relegated from the Lowland League.

Yes. Just noticed that on good old Wiki.

Seems like some of the keyboard warriors are pontificating on something they know very little about!

There's also Stranraer and Caledonian Braves Reserve sides. Ten out of 13 teams play under flood-lights - no other leagues comes close to that at Tier 6 and below except for the EoS Premier.

Then there's where do new clubs come from in the South as there's no Saturday leagues beneath the SoS. To start up and apply straight to the WoS - would the WoS even consider that as acceptable?

Threave's application to the WoSFL is confirmed.

As they are more than likely to be accepted, do they realise they'll be either in an expanded two-conference Div3 at Tier 9 or Div4 at Tier 10? (Rather than alongside old rivals Bonnyton at Tier7!)

When the penny drops, might their application be withdrawn?
