Croatia.

Israel.

Proof of what, exactly?

There's been Motherwell fans calling him out as poor for ages on their thread. Now he should be playing for Scotland but not for them.

You asked a question and three separate posters have provided you with pretty much the same response.

You just don't fancy the guy as a player - you are entitled to that opinion. You are hardly alone in that regard on this forum.

However making unsubstantiated comments to denigrate his efforts doesn't show you up in a good light.

How about you identify the 'numerous times' you refer to above rather than providing a generalised opinion with no substantiation?

He's been out of the Motherwell team recently for Covid reasons - but don't let that get in the way of your personal vandetta against him.

Good to see your making the same spelling mistakes on both accounts 2426255!

Both big Clarke and o'donnell fans also 🤣 busted

The fact we're arguing about playing an absolute jobber of a steady eddie RB or an untested 19 year old who isn't playing regularly for their club says it all about our fortunes at RB for the time being.

Soon Patterson (or perhaps that Ramsay at Aberdeen) will be our RB but for now, the middling Premiership RB that is O'Donnell should get the nod for this game.

It wasn’t long ago we were playing the other Paterson at right back. SOD got a chance when Hutton retired and there was no one to go on the trip to Peru/Mexico.

That we have (not exactly a dilemma) a choice at all is improvement. In the next 12 months you’d expect there to be genuinely good options.

We can then focus our complaints on the goalkeeping problem, amongst other areas. With Doig and Hickey the understudies on the other side, our full backs look set for the next 12+ years

Is O’Donnell better than Patterson defensively? Possibly, but there really isn’t that much in it.

Paterson is light years ahead offensively, and given we rely on our wing backs so much I would rather have one that can actually get forward. There are three central defenders and two holding midfielders - why do we need a defensive RWB as well. We are far too obvious going forward with SOD in the team, blunt the left hand side and we are basically done.

No idea why people would think otherwise, but Tuesday night is a must win. If we don’t win we will not have a chance to be second.

I mean, this is simply untrue.

Let’s say we draw with Austria and Denmark beat Israel and then we beat Israel at Hampden; we’d have 12 points, Austria would - most likely - have 11 points and Israel would have 10 points.

We’d then have very winnable games against Faroes and Moldova to get us up to 18 points, with neither Austria or Israel likely to be higher than 14 points.

Now, I know there are so many variables/assumptions in there but it’s hardly a stretch. We could really use a win but it’s obviously incorrect to say we’re finished with a draw.

I'm sure the website automatically changes the spelling of vandetta as a pisstake of some Stuart Dickson once typed.

Div Turnbull on the left wing?

Just because the line up shows him out wide doesn’t mean he’d be playing as a winger. Robertson would provide the width on that side.

Fraser is the only winger in the squad so you need someone else to play on the other side. It’s not a hill I’m willing to die on but it solves the right back problem.

He played there once for us. A 1-0 defeat to County.

An experiment that lasted precisely 45 minutes because that's how long it took Robinson to realise it was, in fact, a terrible, terrible idea.

Christie would be a more natural fit but I’m still annoyed at him being pish yesterday.

If...if...if...if. Win against Austria and our chances are still alive for finishing second, don’t win and although mathematically we could still be second, we all know deep down it’s not happening.

Anyone watch Austria's hounding by Israel?

Curious about what happened there, considering the stats. We've seen plenty of Israel, and they've never looked like World Cup qualifiers, being roughly on par with us. Their results are a bit all over the place. You'd think Austria would've been on high alert, considering they just received a similar result over there a couple of years ago.

By Christ, some lovely finishes but Austria had an absolute shitemare at the back. Can only hope that continues next week. Israel didn't look too hot at the back either from the highlights.

There’s an easy way to avoid playing O’Donnell or Patterson.

Gordon

Tierney - Hanley - Cooper - Robertson

Gilmour - McGregor

Fraser - McGinn - Turnbull

Adams

4-5-1? mate you need to give it up, your no cut out for management with a team like that. Tierney at right back? Turnbull on the left wing? embarrassing. 😅
