One day, I asked my dad if I could just have the half glass of beer without the lemonade as there would be no difference in the volume of alcohol I was being given. Didn't take long before I just got given a whole tin along with the instructions "don't tell your mother". This was lovely stuff. Never tried it as an adult so probably rank.

I wanted to re-try this last year for nostalgic purposes.... it has now been discontinued. Dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Eednud
Think I used to love these in the days when they were only sold loose.

Although they wouldn't have the strength to do the whipping up.
Newbornbairn
Jelly mixed with carnation milk in a blender and left to set. "Fluffy Puff" - haven't had it since I was a bairn, think I'll make it for the grandkids.

Duszek
Toasted cheese (brown bread and cheddar) covered with orange marmalade. A « snack tea » in front of the telly when the parents were going out on Saturday night. They were the best of times.

Ya Bezzer!
When I was a kid I used to eat dry Jacobs Cream Crackers straight out the packet. When I was a teenager and should have been at school I used to just wander off into the fields with the Dead Kennedys/Black Flag on my Aiwa walkman and eat red liquorice laces cos they were really cheap and you could buy loads of them. Enough to last you a days worth of wandering about fields.
ICTChris
In the last 10 years or so I’ve stopped eating crisps. I’ve really gone off the texture of them. It’s quite odd as they are objectively good, I like salty savoury food but I just don’t like crisps anymore. Maybe I’ve gone mental. I like that Top Deck was the Shandy by appointment to the Queen.

superwell87
An Ice cream float. Loved these as a wean, but they do not sound appealing as an adult.

A dollop of vanilla in a glass of lemonade? My mum used to do that. Can imagine my kids faces if I tried that.
