I watched that too,  was excellent.  Bush seemed fairly 'normal' if you get me.

In hindsight, following the madness of the Trump era, he seems utterly normal. At the time I thought he was certifiable.

It was the ultimate 'could have been me' I think.

I mind my first job a couple of years after it happened, a lad in the office said he was staying in one of the buildings next to the towers that was destroyed in the collapse. This was a week before it happened. In my head I was just thinking "w****r" but I was a young lad so I think I just said "wow, spooky"

I feel everyone knows someone that has some sort of 'could have been me' related to 9/11. Though the people that missed any of the flights, for whatever reason must have been in utter shock.

Seth MacFarlane was meant to be on the Mohammed Atta flight I believe.  He's said since it doesn't bother him as he didn't know it was going to happen so doesn't think about what would've happened if he made the flight.

David Angell, co-creator of Frasier, was on one of the planes that hit the twin towers and was killed.

Was in 6th year at school and knew nothing about it until the end of the school day when my best mates mum, who ran an after-school club for younger kids came and told us what had happened. Legged it home and watched it on the news. Just a bizarre bizarre thing. Remember thinking at the time, and I'm even more convinced about it now that the 4th plane was blown out of the sky by the Americans.

On my way back from Singapore connecting through Schipol.Watched it unfold on a tv sat in the  business lounge then went to the gate to board my flight then sat on a plane for 3 hours then everybody had to get off and  collect all there luggage. Then go back through security and everybody's luggage got opened and checked. Then got told everything was cancelled. So  I was really lucky I only had a carry on so I was quick to the queue to get a hotel for the night and rebooked ( lassie gave me a ticket and  said just turn up at the airport in the morning and get on the next available) Finally got home on the Friday as they obviously went security mental and it was taking 6-7 hours just to get through to airside

Schipol seems to be the  airport I get stuck at as I was also stuck there with the  Icelandic volcano

Was working in Limehouse, Docklands and stood outside the office looking up at the big skyscrapers at Canary Wharf (there were only a couple at the time) to see if any planes would bash into it. The place was very tense and all Locked down. Mrs then drove into the secured area and ran out of petrol, abounding her car on a roundabout in the middle of Canary Wharf.

I've got this covered.

Transportation secretary Norman Mineta heavily implied at the 9/11 commission that orders were given to shoot down the 4th plane.

Cheney openly admits he gave the order to shut down the plane, its not a point of contention. I believe that the hostages attempted to retake the plane and the terrorists crashed it, I dont see why the americans would cover it up if they did shoot it down given they openly admit they gave the order to do so. If you watch the timeline of that day they were so slow to even get a fighter escort for air force one that I completely believe it went down before they could get a fighter anywhere near it.
