Oh Jings! Dream Rings -vs- Buckie Softies

Recommended Posts

Duffy, Mckay, Doran, McLear, Welsh, Harper all likely to get a start for this one I reckon. Wish MacDonald would get fit enough to play some minutes too.

Due to his rehabilitation after his injury, McDonald is only available for away matches for the time being I've been told.

My team -

MacKay

Duffy Devine Deas Harper

Doran McAlear Welsh Walsh

Duku Mckay

Jags fan here we’ve been on fire this season and if Caley play a weakened team you never know. My partner is a CAley fan and the banter here this week will be great unfortunately we’re at Hampden on Saturday and missing the big Match

I rather think that you should consider the efficacy of your hot take source material

Until Tommy Walsh came on Caley gave a brilliant textbook display of going nowhere square passing out of the Alf Ramsay book and 'How to give the ball away needlessly'.

That second goal was a bit dubious.

The fourth goal though was an absolute thing of beauty with great interplay and teamwork

Seeing the goals there and the 2nd was fine. The Buckie keeper saw Walsh coming, missed the ball and then stopped dead which meant he collided with Walsh.  No foul on him imo and the goal correctly stood.

Walsh made a shoulder charge on the goal keeper which is perfectly legal, but at point of contact the attacking players arm from shoulder to elbow must be tucked in, check the video where the referee has clear line of sight when Walsh fully extends his right arm to make contact with the goalkeeper before full shoulder contact.

Anyway who gives a feck, it's in the past.

Pretty easy in the end despite Buckie starting the better with a couple of really good chances to open the scoring. Lots of nice quick, crisp passing around the box but too often it amounted to nothing. Mckay and Jamieson impressed up front and linked well together. Nice header for Jamieson to open the scoring and there's something almost reassuring about Billy Mckay bagging goals in the red and blue of ICT. I thought Hyde gave a pretty good performance at RB as well. Nice to be able to make 10 changes and still steam roller the opposition irrespective of what level they are playing at. Buckie are no mugs but I felt we handled them pretty well for the majority of the game.

Bring on Elgin...
