Jimi Shandrix
Spencer Elden, the man who featured on the cover of "Nevermind" as a baby is suing the band for sexual exploitation. He's played on the fame from this photo his whole life. Strikes me as somebody who maybe needs a quick buck and sees his chance here. Absolutely mental, but as it's America he'll probably win. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-58327844
Cptn Hooch
Surely Nirvana's defence just needs to show the court the article that's linked in the one you posted https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-37478523 Elden recreates the photograph and even offers to do it naked. As you say, it reeks of someone looking for a pay day
BFTD
It sounds like he's been quoted many times about how great the whole thing has been for his life, so yeah, best of luck. American ambulance chasers will take on absolutely anything on the off-chance that it pays off.

Meldrew
so anyone who had ''nevermind'' in their CD collection was a nonce who kept images of child pornography ? Edited August 25, 2021 by Meldrew
Cptn Hooch
I do wonder if the irony of the baby from nevermind chasing a quick buck is lost on him

L. Brilliant
I was going to be too lazy to read the article until it occurred to me: I bet the lawyer is taking it on for publicity. Yes he is. He's obviously been cashing in on it but I think it'll be quite easy to paint that as having been a coping strategy, or merely playing the hand he's been unfairly dealt. Not necessarily true but an unscrupulous lawyer could probably convince him of it.

One of the articles about this said words to the effect of "nude pictures of babies are not normally considered pornographic in the American legal system". Make of that what you will.

For a comparison, see The Scorpions “Virgin Killer” cover in the U.S. verses the rest of the world.

You genuinely wouldn't want anyone who greenlit that around your daughters. Spinal Tap must have got the whole "Smell the Glove" bit from that. Seventies metal bands were fucked up.

That and Blind Faith’s “Blind Faith” cover too. That one had to be wrapped for U.S. distribution. More fun was the black box put over the naked model’s butt on the cover of “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking”, by Roger Waters. Wile E Coyote
I have a censored CD copy of Force It by UFO. The cover is weird as f**k. the two figures are faded out which kind of make them look like ghosts

Oh yeah, that cover is just weird. 11 year old topless girl holding phallic model plane. Who thought that was a good idea?

tamthebam
Apparently a banana is to sue the Velvet Underground for exploitation after its image was used without permission on an album cover. Also Algie to sue Pink Floyd...
