edinburghhonestman
Anyone who isn't Jim Duffy or David Hopkin. Please!
Thumper
Might as well make it a volunteer position tbh, no point in paying for something the club evidently don't give a single shit about.
Trogdor
I'm actually at the point that anyone would do. I'd even be happy doing a raffle at half time and a fan takes over for a week. If they win they stay on. Lose and we do the raffle again. The above genuinely wouldn't be worse than Jim Duffy.

Sortmeout
I assume there is absolutely no way at all that this could be Tommy Wright but that would be an interesting proposition. If it was to be Wright I would be betting the house on you guys beating us in January. That’s just the way football works.
AUcal
Having put an end to the careers of two truly awful football managers in the space of a couple of months, i'd like to see us maybe try someone young, up and coming and unexpected. Would be very Ayr United for us to bring in someone like Brian Rice now wouldn't it. Hopefully with Mathie in place we might see something exciting.

Even if he doesn't want to be a full-time manager any more, he's a safe pair of hands to lead the team for now. This aged well.
the west curve
Mathie is a strange choice as he’s always been a Killie.
itzdrk
Be interested to see what the bookies make of this, head coach advertised rather than manager. Means you are looking at someone probably younger or that has semi-succesfully worked under this setup before. What's Jack Ross up to?

Stuart Kettlewell would meet your criteria. Laurie Ellis to doing well at the Spiders. At some point, Alan Archibald will want to be a manager/head coach again. It won't be long before the Falkirk fans are here to suggest Gary Holt.

Here's an idea, why don't you go for Gary Holt? He still lives in Ayrshire so it would suit both parties. He's doing a phenomenal job at Falkirk but we wouldn't want to stand in his way of going up a league.
