Stranraer v The Binos

Recommended Posts

Well after the disappointing loss last week to Annan, we are on our travels again to the beautiful seaport of Stranraer in the hope of getting the 3 points.

Bad news NO Supporters Bus ☹️, NO Live Streaming of the game ☹️, let’s hope the team can give us something to smile about at full time.

Stranraer sit bottom of the League with only 1 point so far and will be looking to get off the mark with a home win. For us just hope the team starts the way we played in the 2nd half last week, not the first half when we lost 2 goals within a minute for the 2nd week running.

Prediction Stranraer 1 Binos 1. Prove me wrong guys.

Going to make the journey down, been a number of years since I was last at Stair Park. Hoping for huge improvements on the 3 games played already this season.

A journey best taken on an air of confidence.

It has been a long time since the season when Stranraer and Stirling teams that were both excellent for this level competed and prevented Gretna's rise for a year.

Worryingly, it's been a long time since any of our forward players actually scored a goal. And that was a free kick from Dylan Mackin up at Inverness.

In our last 5 matches, we have scored six goals, three from defenders, two from midfielders, and one own goal.

Dale Carrick has looked reasonably good but hasn't had a sniff of goal. This needs to change as we canny rely on Martin McNiff being our top goalscorer AND being promoted.

Get it sorted.

Looking forward to going today, not been to Stranraer in about 6 years now. Do they still have the corrupt stewards who 'let you in' for a fiver? 🤣

Good win for us today, did not expect that after Annan last week. It makes a change for us to score 2 goals within a couple of minutes. [emoji3]
Let’s hope this is the start of things to come. Next game up is against Stirling Albion Reserves aka Albion Rovers at Forthbank where we have to start winning games at home. It been a long while since we managed to get all 3 points at Forthbank let’s hope we do the business again next week.

Much, much better today. We look a totally different side when Jack Leitch is playing. No failures in the side, a solid team performance against an admittely poor (or at best, lacking in confidence) Stranraer side.

I hope Dale Carrick gets a goal soon though, you can see it's starting to affect him a bit, hopefully he can nick one or two against Rovers next week.

Yeah have to agree with StewartyMac, much better today and we looked more capable as well. I was critical of him last week, but creditwhere credit is due, I thought Dylan Mackin was excellent up front and put in a MOTM display.

Leitch and Grant definitely pulled the strings for us and we just looked more dangerous, going forward and apart from an effort that hit the bar, we never really looked in any danger.

It looks like it’s going to be another long season for Stranraer and you can get the frustrations of the home support when you are still playing the ball from the back when it’s clearly not working.

Delighted to see Ross McGeachie on the score sheet, he enjoyed that and it’s more than his efforts have deserved over the last year or so, delighted for him and all the players tonight.
