QF - Celtic v Raith Rovers

A disgrace by Sellick to deny an allocation to Raith fans.

The game isn't on the ST, it's live on the telly and will at best have a 20k attendance. More than enough room for the Raith fans to be given a section.

But of course it's about more than that now, If they allow away fans of any club in now then they will have no justification for rejecting the blue bigots when they come calling in January.

If they let us in all Celtic would have to say to other teams is "we projected a smaller than normal home crowd for our game against Raith Rovers and as such felt we would have ample space to accommodate their fans for this game. Going forward though league games will continue to see a sizeable home crowd and as such we are unable to accommodate further away fans until further notice". However it would kick up a stoosh amongst other teams fans if we got in so I'd guess they are just taking a blanket approach. Still a pisser none the less.

Home league games ST ticket holders have to be relocated due to the red zone and it becomes impossible to allocate a section to away fans as those from the main stand have to be allocated to that section. Yes there are empty spaces but that’s due to ST holders not turning up for one reason or another.

The cup game is different as it’s on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme so they should be able to tell how many tickets have been sold to those usually relocated from the red zone into seats where ST holders have opted out and then don’t put tickets on general sale for the usual section we allocate for away fans.

As for the game itself we have to bounce back with a comprehensive win, hopefully see Giakoumakis make his debut

Was hoping the likes of Johnston, Dembele etc  might get decent time but can’t see Ange taking any risks at the however some could play anyway out of necessity. Would agree it is a joke there is no away fans for this one. Whilst a lot of season book holders are on the HCTS we could have had a few hundred ffs, football isn’t quite the same without away fans.

It’s a minor administrative procedure to move a handful of Celtic season ticket holders out of their normal seats to make way for away fans. Looking at the map of tickets sold you could probably manage it in a few areas by inconveniencing about 50-100.

That’s before we even acknowledge the 15,000 empty seats in the top tier, which doesn’t appear to be open beyond the first few rows.

There’s no excuse for Celtic’s behaviour here. League games are irrelevant and they’ll have away fans in Europe because UEFA make them, mewling about season tickets and red zones isn’t acceptable and it shouldn’t be acceptable here either.

They simply can’t be arsed with the hassle. Away fans in football shouldn’t be optional.

What are you talking about we have sold over 50 thousand season books?

Also UEFA haven’t made any team take away fans this season, they have only just lifted the ban on them.

Yes there should be away fans at this particular game but enough of this nonsense please.

I didn’t mention anything about numbers of season tickets. For this particular game the top tier appears to be closed aside from the first few rows.

You’ll have away fans at Parkhead literally seven days after we visit. If you can’t see the relevance of that I’m not going to try to explain it to you.

My ticket for this game is 3 rows from the back, so it’s not closed as there are plenty up there on HCTS. So It’s nonsense what you are suggesting. I have yet to hear about Leverkusen getting any allocation yet, we currently aren’t obligated to offer any.

What if the season ticket holders don’t want to move? They paid for their seat so they are entitled to sit in it. There is an answer to the problem by looking at what ST holders havent purchased a ticket for the game and moving them from the red zone to those seats not taken up by ST holders to open up the usual away section.

However that’s me making an assumption with knowing if their are any other issues doing that but I’m sure it’s a little more complex than just some minor admin as most Celtic fans would. And as mentioned UEFA don’t make clubs have away fans or we would have had an allocation in Betis.

It’s a petty squabble with the other arsecheek. You don’t want any of the blue bigots in your stadium for the next derby because they didn’t let you into theirs for the last one.
