Of the $2 trillion spent on the war by Uncle Sam 90% went to US contractors. There will be many people unhappy that tap is being turned off.

You're seriously suggesting at this stage, with absolutely zero evidence, that this is a false flag suicide bomb and not a terrorist attack.

Have a fucking word with yourself.

Taliban won't give a shit if collaborators and folk deserting get blown up.

Even if it's ISIS.

And neither should we .

Except is foreign soldiers and possibly even civilian staff from counties or NGOs.

But it's not the fact that we should be sad that folk died, it shows that the Taliban can't stop other actors working in their country which breaches yet another term of the Doha agreement.

The Taliban appeared to have advanced knowledge of an imminent threat. Looks like it could be a none too subtle message to the Americans that time is up and it is time to start moving the troops out now.

Utter pish.

There is Civil War in the Country, it has never ended in a gazillion years.

The US/NATO scumballs couldn't stop other actors either.

The airlifts for deserters/collaborators has to stop this weekend, so obviously things will get ramped.

If I was the Taliban I'd sit back and hoover up the mess on 1/9.

I’d like you to get Loched down in Guantanamo you complete and utter c**t.

Some extremely graphic videos on twitter of the conditions before the attack, people queuing in sewage and also the numbers of people blown to hell following the attack. Very sad indeed.

Really horrible. Already an extrememly desperate set of conditions, total powderkeg. Was an absolute nap that eventially someone would do this. You have to imagine that even if the Taliban keep their promise of no reprisals, any American or Western citizen left behind is meeting a grizly end at the hands of this IS K mob

Doesn’t matter what the leadership say.  Even if they have genuine intentions and mean this the people on the ground will act differently.

This is not a structured and disciplined organisation in the sense we’re used to.  Orders are not always followed.

Indeed. Which makes it all the madder that the US decided to withdraw from Afghanistan on the basis of guarantees given by an organisation that isn’t in the position to honour them even if it were itself so minded to do.

Yeah theres that aswell. I assuke "Taliban" to be a bit of an umbrella term with varying factions involved

Either way, after today, its all gonna slow down and more will be left than otherwise would have been.

Yes it's utterly depressing that they have talked a good talk in Doha but it appears the US have made no enquiries, or they don't care, if the people on the ground can or are interested in becoming fairly moderate.

The Taliban have had to tell women and girls to stay at home until their fighters learn to respect them, I suspect that could take generations to happen if indeed it ever does meaning that the protections agreed to in the Doha agreement are basically pointless.

Very frustrating that no other NATO country was prepared to stay without America, begs the question what's the point of us having the ultimate deterrent if we (and France) still have to head for the exits just because America gives up, on a "forever war" although don't tell them they are still mucking about in Korea.

Nuclear capability is irrelevant here and we retain it as a defence against an entirely different threat, or as a political bargaining chip*

I think the point of the ultimate deterrent is to stop anyone dropping it on the UK rather than threatening Terry Taliban with it.

"Hello Mullah Fred, if you don't stop fighting we'll nuke you"

"Hello Boris you fucking mad infidel. Have a look at where Afghanistan actually is. Russia to the North, Pakistan and India to the South, Iran to the West and China to the East. All of whom would be less than highly delighted if a couple of nukes fell on Kabul.."
