The Mo v Peeeeeterheeed

Recommended Posts

Well we made heavy weather of that ... despite being the better team by a country mile. Like last week we should’ve been 3 or 4 ahead but unlike last week we kept things tight and avoided throwing away more points. Bizarre penalty .. why the boy tripped Webby when he was running out of the box is a complete mystery. I guess clumsiness is the only logical conclusion. Onwards to Fife next week and, hopefully, another 3 points.

Pretty poor performance from us, offered next to nothing going forward. Boy looked like he made a meal of it for the penalty but might’ve just been the view from our angle. Regardless Montrose deserved the three points, will need to improve in the coming games

Was a clear and needless penalty. Montrose have played better and lost so happy with the 3 points. Your keeper played well, kept the score line down for you

Certainly made a meal of it.  The result was fair though and we look very weak defensively.  Dillon was dropping them in behind us for fun in the first half.

Even when we went behind and Montrose dropped everyone back, there was no threat from us.

Thought some of the bookings and non-bookings were bizarre today.  Not claiming bias or anything, just flummoxed.

Enjoyable game today from a Mo perspective. A much better outcome than last week too. Would have liked more of the chances to have been put away. Cove’s demolition of East Fife was foreboding and shows the difference having a proven striker or two makes in burying those chances. Still, I think we’re in a better place, having a strong squad overall, rather than having to rely so much on a talismanic goal scorer to get results. If the players we currently have can get their shots away on target more often and the defence keep mopping up like they were doing today, against more potent forwards, then maybe we will be just fine as we are.

Got to be delighted with the start we have had to the season, apart from last 15 minutes of the Clyde game we should really have been  sitting top of the league with 3 wins and 9 points but 7 out of 9 is not too bad either.

Played some good football on Saturday and were worthy of our win should have been 1-2 more but 3 points and clean sheet is all that matters.Lewis Milne deservedly MOTM he has had a great start to the season playing further forward on the pitch I'd hope he can pitch in with a fair few goals this year.Mark Whatley has been very impressive as well in the middle of the park, Terry Masson can play further forward knowing that Whatley will be sitting behind him doing all the dirty work they have been working very well together.Special mention to CJ on Saturday worked his socks off and was unlucky not to get a goal or two.He is never going to bang in a heap of goals for us but his pace and presence up top can cause all sorts of havoc at times.
