Week 13: St Johnstone (1-2 Hibs (H))

Might as well make it official.

Hibs leave Perth with 3 points and without the Hot Potato. Can it press the opposition? Can it play Centre midfield?

Saints have a very quick chance to get rid of the potato with an upcoming (its not a) derby away to Dundee. Failure to win that and they play Ross County at home on Saturday, where goals are non existent.

Its all shite anyway

Can probably do weeks 15, 16, 17, 18...

If you don't score goals you don't win games. Saints don't score goals so wont be winning any games.

What a laugh eh

Saints can feel hard done by with the goal, but we were never going to score anyway so would have kept the Hot Potato regardless.

Next up is a nice relaxing trip to the champions on Wednesday. f**k sake

A trip to lovely Lanarkshire next up, where last seasons Hot Potato enjoyed so much time.

Hope it doesn't expect to stay long though, as St Johnstone are without "main striker" Chris Kane.

After Saints fail to score here, its back to McDiarmid Park where they will fail to score in consecutive games v Ross County and then Celtic.

Merry fucking Christmas

As predicted St Johnstone remained utter shite over the christmas break, but no fear as Nadir Ciftci is here to single handedly drag us up the table. If the international clearance comes in.

European push starts with Hearts away for the Super Js tonight.

Incredible late scenes at the Spaghettihad as fan favourite Ali Crawford smashes home a late winner for the Saints.

Much like Celtic, Saints fall short of the ten, keeping the Hot Potato for 9 weeks before leaving it in West Lothian.

Livingston host Aberdeen on Saturday.

Not worried.

Quite right to not be worried.

Livi get rid of the Hot Potato at the first time of asking, sending the Dons up the road with a doggy bag from Tony Macaroni.

Aberdeen host Celtic midweek and then St Johnstone a week on Tuesday. I see where this is going.

Successive 1-1 draws sees Jim Goodwins Aberdeen retain the hot potato.

A new firm (is that still a thing) clash on Saturday as Dundee Utd travel up to Pittodrie to watch the locals get shat on by mutant seagulls.

Aberdeen will be hoping to send United down the road with the Hot Potato as trips to Tynecastle and Ibrox follow this fixture for the Dons.

Still all to play for leading up to the split.

Sir Alex Ferguson has achieved a lot in his life, arguably a hattrick for St Johnstone at Ibrox being the high point, but he might never have witnessed a fixture with so much at stake.

A third successive 1-1 draw sees The Dons retain possession of the Hot Potato for the 5th week.

They travel to Tynecastle tonight.

Goodwin has some job on his hands here. Another week in possession for Aberdeen, and it doesn't get any easier as next up as they travel to the champions on Saturday.

Aberdeens 6th consecutive week and 8th overall with the Hot Potato, close to St Johnstones 9.

Last time they had it, they got rid of it away to Hibs, and coming up after Rangers away is the visit of Hibs to Pittodrie.

Another week, and Aberdeen still waiting for that new manager bounce to kick in. Defeat at Ibrox see's them match St Johnstones 9 weeks in possession of this seasons Hot Potato.

They host Hibs on the 19th next. With Dundee and Ross County to follow, there is a real chance the potato could sneak in to the top six.

Twice this season Aberdeen have gone on double digit winless runs. Twice this season Hibernian Football Club Club have rocked up to Pittodrie.

Week 30: Hibs (1-3 Aberdeen (A))

Looking like we'll probably end the season on week 37 due to the way fixtures have fallen. That's pretty god damn close to 38, which I am happy with.

Hibs host Dundee United a week on Saturday, and then travel to Hearts in the final pre split match. A real chance that the potato sneaks in to the top six now.
