Kilwinning Rangers 23/24

Recommended Posts

4 games in and a promising start from the Buffs.

We are a young side with legs and goals all over the park.

All 4 teams we've played so far have played with shape and enthusiasm, there's going to be no mugs in the division this season. Bonnyton started well last night, but the penalty just before half time to go in 2 0 knocked the stuffing out of them.

Glens and Darvel up next, 2 tough fixtures that will allow us to see where we are at.

Onwards and upwards.

Tremendous entertainment and value for money at Buffs Park today. A great advert for the game at our level.

Buffs created enough chances to win many games. Cruising at 3 1 after some excellent play, a freak goal and pen brought it back to 3 3.

Despite this Buffs continued to press and missed several great openings to win the game. Right at the death, Glens created a good chance to win it, the keeper making a great save.

Glens stuck at it all game, but can consider themselves fortunate to take home a point. Buffs will take a lot from the game today against a more experienced and physical Glens side.

Darvel up next. Onwards and upwards COYB.

How will they take a lot from the game when they blew a 3-1 lead against one of the teams who will be in the bottom half of the game?

Buffs are a young side, plenty of learning and growing to be done. Reacted well losing the first goal today and reacted well when it went to 3 3. Hard to say where an experienced and physical Glens side will finish given the league season has just started.

Next week’s game will be a cracker hope Buffs take the points

Every game involving Buffs has been a cracker so far this season. We are great to watch, try to play the game on the deck, entertainment has been great so far.

How did wee Strain react to today’s draw don’t think he’d be happy after being up 3-1

He'll not be a happy camper that's for sure. Ben who does KRTV is on holiday, so no post match interview, perhaps just as well 😁

He was more animated when we were 3-1 up to be honest.

Glenafton were well organised for the most part and Buffs found it difficult to break through despite having the majority of the possession and territory. We should have gone for the throat at 3-1 up but instead relaxed a bit. The Glenafton second goal looked like a lucky cross and they probably should have won it at the end.

Darvel requested segregation and at the time we didn’t have enough volunteers to be able to operate 2 cash gates and keep everything segregated. We have since hired security guards to manage the segregation freeing up 2 volunteers who can then run a cash gate at the away end. It’s only been sorted in the last day hence why the ask was for fans to buy online tickets in advance.

We don’t have segregation at any of our other games so not sure why it’s necessary here.

If you’ve an issue with the booking fee maybe  your chairman can cover the £1.21 expense!

Segregation and security a nonsense for a game with less than 500 fans and no previous.

Specific request from the Darvel committee, can only presume they had concerns after the handbags at Glenafton

Think the Buffs took a lot from Saturday and applied tonight, a clean sheet at home to one of the league favourites?
