Aberdeen v Dundee Utd

Recommended Posts

Pretty good opening half hour. Bit of sloppiness in the last fifteen, but United haven't really threatened bar that Harkes header at the end. Saying that, I think we might need another in the second half as sense we will concede at some point.

With Half an hour on the clock, we looked  like hopeless cloggers that have never met each other before. Camera zooms in on Tam who looks like he's not got a clue what he's supposed to do.

f**k sake.

Last 5 minutes we looked like a team of players that had a somewhat mixed footballing past.

Harkes has been better than normal is about the only positive take I can get from that first half.

Smith absolutely needs to take the ball more than the half way line more often.

Tbf United don't look so murder ball they just haven't had enough it to do anything.

Can see us sneaking a draw here though.

We've just got no midfield. Harkes has been invisible. A real impressive disappearance job even by his high standards. Pawlett looks like he's been actively told to forget trying to actually get on the ball and solely focus on tripping up in front of Aberdeen players to win some pity fouls. Butcher isn't managing to get involved with the game in between kicking people either. In fact, the amount of fouls we've conceded already is absurd, and the referee is not being harsh on us.

Smith's most telling contribution came right after Aberdeen's goal. Got the ball in space  in the Aberdeen half with plenty of bodies pushed up in support for a change. He took a couple of touches, panicked, got closed down and passed it back to Edwards. Aberdeen then comfortably pushed us back again.

If this is an indicator of what's ahead of us this season then we're in deep shit.

I think I've been banging this drum for about six years now.

Is Ramsey always this good?

Could finally have quality Scottish RBs if him and Patterson continue to develop this season.
