The Ayrshire Derby (Act 1)

Recommended Posts

I know exactly the situation - to try and twist that into Killie ripping off the taxpayer is fucking laughable, on so many levels.
..and again with the the rangers connection - I'm not aware of us having had any half and half scarves printed.
Back in yer hovel.
Feel free to furnish us with the truth then. I'm only going by what I saw in the press. I'll hold my hands up, no problem.

Ps, having a scarf produced, once, which no one asked for nor wanted is a little different to belting out a slightly tweaked Rangers favourite over years and years, but whatever.

When I started following Killie I never expected success.  We were bouncing between the leagues and anytime we did make the Premier league it was generally a miserable season of getting gubbed most weeks and our best players lured away. Then we hit rock bottom, second division.
The Fleetings arrived, brought in Tommy Burns and Killie were rebuilt from the bottom up.
Bobby Fleeting promised a new all seater stadium, Premier league football , Major Trophies, European football and Internationalists playing for Killie.
At the time I thought he was Mental, but everything he promised came to be.
Sometimes a once in a lifetime opportunity arises when the perfect person to run your club comes along at the perfect time.
Bobby Fleeting was our perfect person and laid the foundations for all the success that followed.
Ayr knocked back David Murray didn't they ?

Yes we did but it wasn't the same situation that it was when he bought Rangers and pumped millions in that was never the plan for Ayr.

It would have been fucking hilarious, but you really did dodge a bullet with that cúnt. Any "millions" he pumped in tended to exist on the books of his other companies rather than in any real arena, and we know how that ended up, don't we?

A. A comprehension issue, then. Not sure I can make it simple enough for you. Maybe google again and get a grown-up to help?

B. Amazing how these idiots go creating products that nobody wants, isn't it? I mean, nobody bought them, I take it?

As for the song, in common with many, many Killie fans, I'd ditch it tomorrow. Get the back to the good old days of Wings of a Sparrow and Build a Bonfire.  Simple, tuneful and adaptable.  A full rendition of Paper Roses remains the finest terrace song in Scotland, mind. *

*On the off-chance there's any Hibs fans around - that 2016 rendition of SoL was incredible, but as a one-off for that occasion. Tears were shed. On a normal day, it's a wee bit of a dirge, don'tcha think?**

**Not when peformed by Jane Horrocks:wub:, mind.

Well, that's sure me told.
In the time it took you to write out that whole post, you could have just answered. You instead chose the low road, which is a shame as I thought you were better than that.

You did however sell them nearly your entire stadium and let them play their party songs on the PA to let them celebrate a title win.

And let’s not forget being the only club to not vote against reinstating Rangers straight into the top flight.

The fucking brass neck.

Fairly sure they moved fans from their own seats to sell them to both sides of the bigot brothers....
With free PA access for party tunes thrown in....
Obviously Rosie doesn't see irony before he posts nonsense.

Kilmarnock FC did not repay their debt to a bank which was majority owned by the taxpayer. They reached a settlement where a large chunk of the debt was written off. If you can't accept that then you're living in an alternative reality. It's entirely factual.

Whether it represented good value for tax payers is a different issue. X% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

Oh, ffs. Short sentences, wee words.

BoS/Lloyds was on the way under. Bailed out by Government. That's yer taxpayer's money. About a third public owned.

Killie owed a debt which the bank deemed unlikely to be repaid, so wrote it off. This was the bank's money.

..and it was less than 10m. Not 13m. If you want to continue to pretend the taxpayer still has any connection to this money*, it would be about 3m.

Also, I am in no way better than that. Whatever that is.

*Which we obviously didn't. Privatising profit, socialising debt. That's the neo-liberal way.

Looks like the maths department at Mainholm is just as fucked as the English department.

The money ceased to belong to us (the taxpayer) when it was given to Lloyds. If you can't accept that then you're living in an alternative reality. It's entirely factual.

Trying to claim that the chairman isn’t representative of the club while simultaneously having a pop at another club over the actions of a bloke selling some scarves.

It’s a bold strategy I’ll give you that.

You're really not getting the scarf thing, are you? There was obviously a market for such an abomination - or at least a belief there was a demand. Thje perception that you've got more than a few  busfare-less currants in your support is not an unfounded one.  I'm not having a go at the club, simply pointing out that some of your fans have an attraction to a certain "big team".

We're fortunate in that our "big team" is Killie.

Thanks for clearing that up, heck of a state to whip yourself into just to get there.
