Dundee FC vs St Mirren

Recommended Posts

Now you see why the Dundee fans have been given the moniker "Funsters", they really are tremendous fun. Throwing around insults while trying to gloss over a player suspended, 2 injured while their star man reduced to struggling to hold off players at their own corner flag. I look forward to more fun posts over the season.

Watching Dundee play today (thanks to hesgoal BTW), reminded me of what it used to be like watching teams play in the 70s and 80s.

Unfortunately the game has moved on since those days of agricultural football.

It was like they'd won a competition to play a match against a top 6 team.

They parked the bus and got their point today.

Fair play to them - if you lack the skill go for blood and snotters, but it's disappointing not to have won the game.

We won't be facing this appalling wall of attrition every week.

Can't see any team other than Dundee going down and it's probably a good thing because it's embarassing having players like that in out top division.

Ross County can rest easy.

Anyway, as I said last week, we still have a problem in central midfield and unless we sort it we can kiss top 6 goodbye.

That fishing emoji got used far too soon🤣

Managers interviews:

Dundee manager James McPake: "We should've had all three [points]."

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin: "All in all I think a point is probably fair."

I think they have summed it up well

I mean, McPake isn't correct there, though, is he?

The reason for the difference is that Goodwin knows that wasn't a great performance, so a draw is about fair. McPake on the other hand saw his team play better than they've ever done before, understandable really - wee teams always raise their game, and can't believe he let the best chance he'll get against us slip through his fingers.
