I honestly think its because he was such a good footballer. Apparently he was an outstanding coach, but a dreadful manager, because he was constantly raging at players not being able to do, or even see, things on the pitch that he would be doing when playing. He was a good player back in the day but that was when you had ten cigs and 10 pints after a match and the opposition midfield contained 3 hard men cloggers.
