Sounds like bollocks.

Hand on ball = keepers ball,  by definition.

I have absolutely no idea what's controversial about this decision.  It's so clear cut

Hand on ball for about half a millisecond - controversy. IMHO.

Had he only skimmed over the top of the ball maybe,  but he clearly reaches out and plants his hand on top of it,  there's no doubt if its not kicked from him the ball isn't going to move until Schmeichel moves it.

Schmeichel has done exactly what any goalie coach would tell him to do,  loose ball,  get your hand on it and nobody can do anything.

NBC must have a different rule book.

A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with the hand(s) when:

  • the ball is between the hands or between the hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body) or by touching it with any part of the hands or arms, except if the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper or the goalkeeper has made a save

  • holding the ball in the outstretched open hand

  • bouncing it on the ground or throwing it in the air

A goalkeeper cannot be challenged by an opponent when in control of the ball with the hand(s).

Good save by Scmeichel. Leicester have fallen right out of this game. Not been a great season for the Foxes but keep getting results their play may not warrant.

2-2 incoming...

No. That's the bit they were quoting.

It quite clearly says EXCEPT and then mentions the circumstances that happened.

The except part is for the wording only applies to this  or by touching it with any part of the hands or arms.  Not the first part,  which is what makes it an easy decision.

Ashley Young having a pop at someone for 'diving'. That wee c**t has spent most his career doing exactly that.

Another dig. The guy is one of the most experienced players in a Villa shirt and yet is showing the composure of an 18 year old. Again. Complete fanny.

Ok. A slight tweak would remove any ambiguity.

IFAB have been fans of re-writing rules recently to try make them clearer,  I can see them updating this one in the summer.(probably by instead of having an OR section they separate into 2 bullet points)

I honestly think Pep has got him in, had a good look, and doesnt really fancy him that much. In the big games, the lads he trusts will play.

Even Southgate treated him the same.

If so that's a £100m frivolously chucked away,  should be a sacking offence

Ridiculous from Godfrey, surprised they came to nothing.

It looked like he was looking away but there was that wee glance down just before he made contact.

Shithousery of the highest order.
