English Premier League 2021/22 Season

And that's before you even look at the Burnley takeover which has taken them from having cash in the bank to being saddled with loads of debt.

And a number of long standing shareholders (against the deal) worriedly taking their money out of the club as soon as it was signed off. The genuine Burnley supporters must be absolutely aghast at what has happened to their club since the ALK Capital takeover less than 18 months ago.

I am happy with that, would much prefer Leeds in the Barclays that Burnley

One of the few then, most folk have reverted back to hating dirty Leeds since they papped the god Bielsa.

Huge rebuild required in the summer. Too many players not good enough and likely to lose Raphinia and maybe Phillips too.

Aye but most of the other big teams have generally always been successful and well supported. Man City were shit until they got money.

They'd won all the major English trophies + the ECWC before they got money.

You can see them going the exact same way as Blackburn Rovers unless they can bounce straight back using the parachute payments

It can take a hell of a long time for financially shaky clubs to recover from relegation, if they do.  Look at how long it took Leeds to get back, or look at teams like Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry, Portsmouth who had long top flight runs before going down and have never come back up

Safe to say Liverpool and City are now more dominant in the EPL than the Old Firm are now in the Premiership.

Still a little off the peak dominance Real and Barca had over the rest of La Liga.

Nonsense. Absolute nonsense. Take a look at the final Scottish Premiership table. Third best team in the country were Hearts, and they were a zillion points behind, and they were the only ‘non Old Firm’ team to even manage a positive GD. Aside from Liverpool and Man City, England has multiple clubs playing to 50,000ish crowds. It is not entirely unfeasible that Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, and a cash rich Newcastle could challenge. What about Chelsea? It is not entirely unreasonable to suggest that with a fair wind, some shrewd signings, and home gates of 55,000, West Ham could certainly challenge. The two huge Glasgow clubs up here are now so far ahead they have disappeared, absolutely disappeared out of sight.

I can’t help think that if Klopp had shown Wolves more respect and played his strongest team then Liverpool could have shot out of the blocks and put intense pressure on City, instead they struggled to break Wolves down.

Still, there’s a reason that despite Sky being in total love with the guy that he’s only won 3 league titles in the ‘Big 5’ leagues in a managerial career that’s spanned over 20 years.

A disappointing way to end the season but when your best chances fall to Mbuemo (possibly the worst finisher I've seen at that level) and finish with 9 players, it was only going to go one way.

Still an incredible season for Brentford. Would have taken 17th before a ball was kicked this season so 13th and safe with weeks to spare can't be knocked.

Think another centre back and a striker are needed to build on this season as well as hopefully being able to hold onto Eriksen.

Some end to the season elsewhere as well.

What a game football is.

Was on William hill at the time when I put it on earlier - f**k knows why it was slashed so much.

Perhaps it was the sheer size of the bet you put on; creating a panic right across the market and exchanges!!?[emoji15]

What does the gap with 3rd place matter?

City and Liverpool are racking up more points and better goal difference than the Old Firm. They are strolling the league with the exact same ease that Rangers and Celtic do.

If Hearts had not fell to bits and managed to continue putting away poorer teams what would that say about the quality of Rangers and Celtic? nothing.

I’m not a fan of cashing out when it comes to smaller bets, as it’s generally poor value, but you’d have to be monumentally stupid to knock back a £95k cash out regardless of how much you’d be due if everything went your way.

What do you mean what does it matter? It shows how feckin’ far behind the Glasgow uglies the next best team here is, and is relevant when someone suggests it’s safe to say Liverpool and Man City are now more dominant in their league than Celtic and The Rangers are up here. Celtic and The Rangers are an absolute million miles ahead of everyone else. There is going to be no challenge to their absolute dominance. None. Christ, even when one of them had fcuked off to the seaside leagues, their buddy in bigotry won every title. Game’s a bogey.
