He didn't do well at Man U but he took over a team that had already reached it's peak and was on the way down and the whole recruitment team was starting afresh so weren't able to bring in the correct replacements. That transfer window was a massive failure for Man U. Of the important players from the year before's title winning team only Evra and de Gea kept those standards up afterwards.

Still he got six years pay for 8 months work. He done well in that regard.

he took over the champions of england, who'd just won the league by 11pts

he's partly to blame for the shite recruitment

he never got 6 years pay for 8 months, failure to get Top 4 activated a clause, he only got a 12 month pay off

He took over the champions and it was a team on the way down whilst those around them heavily recruited and improved. His team didn't just tread water, it nose dived, of course he's partly responsible but there's about half a dozen players who played regularly for Man U the season before who never had a decent game (for Man U or anyone else) after that.

Thought that was a weird penalty decision there. Target definitely made contact with Lacazette but his leg never moved. You'd think getting hit to the calf would make your leg go forward.

Surely it’s half time as soon as the Villa keeper makes the save. The refereeing down South is appalling!!

Yeah, I thought with the new rules this season on not giving cheap pens I would have thought he shouldn’t give it.

Targett clearly is in the process of kicking the ball and Lacazette almost plant his leg in line to be kicked. Certainly not enough force to really cause him to go down.

Funnily enough that was my thinking as well. I'm assuming the reason he allowed him to get the rebound was because the penalty would have been awarded on the 45/6th minute when he Lacazette was 'fouled'.

Also, how the f**k is Smith Rowe given that goal? It's clearly an OG.
