WOSFL Conference C 2021-2022

Recommended Posts

It's all must win games for ourselves, Neilston and Drumchapel from here on in.

We host Neilston at Petershill Park next Saturday, with us currently on a club record run of 14 straight league wins. Neilston on a great run too, having won their last 6 in Conference C, scoring 32 and conceding just 2.

2nd weekend on the bounce that we have taken to the road as neutrals for a game and for a 2nd week in a row we got a goalless draw, which is rather rare in The Juniors in my experience.

This at least was a bit better that the Kilbirnie v Beith game of the previous week.

Thought Ant's shaded it slightly, missed a 2nd half penalty and should have had a first half penalty that the ref missed. This said, Ant's keeper had the only real save to make. Ant's down to 10 men for last 10 mins when their captain was sent off for two soft yellows.

Is that St Anthony's last competitive game until August?

Yes (or technically the last Saturday in July according to Kennie). Being in a 15 team Conference, out of the cups and with a good pitch will do that to you. But they've got themselves promoted from the 4th to the 3rd West tier at least.

With most Conferences clubs finishing their games in the next month, there would soon be enough clubs to do a friendly tournament or cup but that's for clubs to organise.

Lanark 1 Kilsyth 0

Lanark end their league season with a win courtesy of a 90th minute penalty tucked away with ease by our player manager.

Poor quality game although both teams had chances. Lanark hit the bar twice and had one saved off the line. Our keeper had a few very good saves.
